Hello

The venue we were planning to get married in is a no no now due to the fact the registrar cant do the date and when i've had a second look i wasnt to sure. So now i am looking hopefully at having a church wedding in St Giles @ Warminster (Wiltshire) as this is where my H2B is based in the army and where we would be living after so thought it might be good to get married where we will be starting our new life together.

But now i have alot of new issues such as we have no

* Evening Reception

* Caterers

* Dj

* Photographer

* Cars

And i dont know the area really. The wedding is hopefully happening on 28th August 2010 and we are on a small-ish budget and asking everyone for army discount i know its cheeky but i cant afford everything as we are funding it all our selfs . Please Help any suggestions welcome on all of the above and more.

xxx

    Hi Gen28

    I'm getting married in Wiltshire too and so have a lot of suppliers from that area - our DJ is https://www.resltd.co.uk/, I can't help with caterers as our venue is doing it all. What kind of car would you be looking for (old/modern etc)? We looked at http://www.bathweddings.org/index.html for our photography, he was pretty good, although it really depends on the budget, neither of those two seemed to be over-priced but I suppose it depends what you've got available.

    Let me know if you need any more help! x

    Hi Gen,

    I think the first thing you need to sort out is your evening reception. If you're on a tight budget, try and get somewhere where you can provide the catering. Really, I think you can save so much money on particularly the alcohol if you do this. For catering instead of a formal sitdown meal perhaps you could rent a hog roast or barbeque caterers.

    At the same time as you're sorting out your reception venue look for local photographers and try and get them booked. Some do special disc-only offers which might help with cash flow.

    On Cars - do you have to have a WEDDING CAR as such? Addison Lee do "nice cars" for a much cheaper rate, or does someone have one you can borrow?

    What are you thinking about dress?

    For the reception could you hire out a local village hall or the officers mess in the barracks themselves (I've known this to happen before but I don't know the rules on it) and have as brideseekingblush has already mentioned a hog roast, barbecue etc, which could cut down costs alot. xx

    Have you tried the Wiltshire Golf & Country Club? I have done lots of weddings there.
