Pllllllleaaase help me pick a colour scheme?

blueeyedgirl, 8 August, 2010 at 21:51 Posted on Planning 0 11

Being an indecisive bride is very very hard!

I have two colour scheme ideas, please help me decide!!

1. Dusky pink and sage (thinking vintage feel, bridcages etc but maybe too summery and a f**ker to get BM dresses to match!

2. Aubergine and olive green (more septembery (its a word!) and fitting with a castle venue plus I luuurve purple and easy dress colour to find in high street BUT not so vintagey and I do want my birdcage in there!!)

I am getting married on 3rd September in a Castle and the room looks like this, which dictates my colour scheme a bit (to include green)

Thanks v.much for your ideas, OH is useless and everyone else glazes over when I mention 'colour schemes'!

Ps - an a random note - what is my username coming up as?? I tried to change it but I can see teh new and old versions! Odd! Thanks :-)

I'm biased as my choices at the mo are dusky pink and ivory.. Or Sage green and ivory. So I say sage green and dusky pink Smiley laugh I'm getting married in a castle too lol Smiley smile

I've found alot of BM dresses in both colours.

You know what, I thought I had my colours sussed until I went dress shopping. Then my CBM made me hang some BM dresses next to it and I changed my mind and ended up with a colour I would have never considered. I think you need to see the colours in 'real life' to really make your mind up.

Both sound really nice but if you want to go with the vintage feel and include birdcages I would go with dusky pink and sage I think, perhaps with a touch of ivory?

The room looks lovely by the way!

I personally prefer the dusty pink as the second option might be a bit dark. Both great colour combos though.

O i am a pink kinda girl. You could also go green. My mum and dad were at an evening reception last week and the BMs were in apple green. The pics looked fab!! Smiley smile they then had the purpley/pinky flowers with them! it was gorgeous! And would fit in with your room!!

I changed username there last week. I had to sign out completely and log back in again for the change to work properly! Smiley smile Hope thats a help!

Oh my word i'm sure i posted very similar post month or so ago. I feel your pain! It took me a year to decide. I also get married in Sept and my 2 choices were the same as yours. I am going for the pink. Here (hopefully) are my mood boards, hope they help.

I would keep to the colours in the room as they are very bold colours. Golds & Greens would work well, adding too many colours could make it look to busy.

    Hi,

Thanks ladies. Yea we are trying to 'match' the room as its quite dark, hence we're choosing green. I am not a fan of gold - I know it would go but just dont really like it. Do you think the pink would clash with the green in the room?

How stressful can picking a colour be?!

    Lol xx
