Do you find it difficult to choose your wedding invites? would you rather make the invites yourself if you could and was easy?

Lots of us are making our own. It depends what you're after as to how easy it will be, as well as how crafty you are.

There's several websites, such as PDA Crafts, who sell the supplies that you'd need for making your own invites. If you have an idea of what kind of thing you're after, people may be able to let you know if it's doable.

I was taken aback by the prices of invitations for something I didn't think was very important. What I did was a mixture of DIY and not, and I chose a template from wedding chicks (https://www.weddingchicks.com/15_invitation-suites.html) - I've picked the crown ones, though I edited out the bit that says "love" and added a scroll. The site is great, as you choose the colours, enter any text you want, and best of all - FREE!

The idea is that you then print them all yourself on any card you like, but as I don't have a printer, and don't need one for anything else, I ordered the invites from Vistaprint. I waited for one of their freebie emails (sign up for an account, but something in your shopping bag, but don't buy it, and very shortly you'll start getting emails with free offers from them). Anyways, it was a one-time fee of £1.29 to upload the image, and I'm buying the invites in batches of 10, and only paying for slow shipping, so the cost per invite ends up being something like £0.30! Well worth the time and 'effort' of doing it ?

To be honest, there are 2 ways of looking at this.

There are lot's of companies that work to your specification so if you have something in mind or have ideas but just don't have the time, then these are the people to go to.

If you are on a sctrict budget, there are also lot;s of companies like Vistaprint that offer printed invitations that will more than do the job.

If you have the time and patience then making them yourself is a good alternative. However, it;s not ALWAYS the cheaper option. Especially if you are indecisive as buying lots of different things to experiment with can really add up. I've had a lot of brides come to me where they have bought lot's of material and then given up.

If you want something a little more specialised like laser cut stationery then you will have to find a supplier that has this equipment (like me!! ? www.inspiremedesigns.co.uk)

    Hello

Invites were not important to us so we just used vista print https://www.vistaprint.co.uk/

and have brought some nice envelopes to put them in and tie some vintage string/ribbon and luggage tags to finish.

It's hard to pick the invitations even if you are making them yourself! I make cards for a hobby so I have a lot of bits already so never even thought about buying invitations to be honest. I just need to make sure I get started in plenty of time!

I'm currently at the invitation stage of my wedding planning and i enjoy doing crafty things (and am on a tight budget) so knew I wanted to make them, or attempt to make them should I say! But when we went to Hobby Craft to pick out the card bits we needed, the total came to more than £80 (for 40 invites), which I thought was ridiculous, so I made a note of what we wanted and bought everything from PDA card online. I also added Order of Service bits as well and it came to just under £50. And the card is really lovely. So this is now today's project!

We went round plenty of shops lookign for invites but the wording inside them either wasnt what we wnated or we didnt like the design, we then looked at companies to make them but quickly realised that would be way too dear. so we decided as im great at crafts i should do them. i made about 10 prototypes before we decided on the ones we will be making.
