Plus Size MOB designers?

Vee Tee, 13 November, 2011 at 22:38 Posted on Planning 0 7

Anyone know any designers who do plus size MOB clothes? My mums starting to worry a bit she likes Jacques Vert but most of his stuff only goes up to a 22 and she didn't manage to lose as much as she had hoped. She's needing a 26 at present.

Thanks Smiley smile

I have no idea whereabouts in the country you are but there is a brilliant shop in Kendal called Boutique 1430 even if she is not near enough to go there it might be worth looking at their website to see if you can get any of the brand names they sell, the stuff is lovely.

Thanks Jules, I had a look at their site, and unfortunately there doesn't seem to be anything in the style she's looking for. We are up in the far north of Scotland so will need to take a trip down for serious outfit shopping, we've been looking every time we've been south for the last year and a half and as yet haven't found anything. The shops are rubbish just now I think.

Wow Jules, that does look a lovely selection there. THink heading down to Englandshire would need to be a last resort though, we'll aim to try and get something in Glasgow or Perth- fingers crossed anyway!

This is a good shop in Glasgow, or have you thought about getting something made if she found a pattern for what she'd like?

My mums a size 20 and she got so fed up looking in the shops she resorted to the internet!

I'm not getting married until May but shes got her whole outfit sorted.

She used a company called Gray and Osbourn online. I'm not sure what size they go upto but always worth a look :-) she managed to get hers in the sale aswell!

    Good luck!x

    Thanks Linziloo

Gosh I wouldn't have thought your mum would have had too much bother getting a size 20. Its ridiculous some shops. My mum found a lot up to a 22 but any higher was a struggle. She'd really rather see it and try it on in a shop if possible though.

Always - I found that shop online and I actually emailed them on their info email address to enquire about what kind of range of plus sizes they had, I think it may well be our best bet so far!!

ETA - Mailed them yesterday, no reply as yet. Fingers crossed.
