Plus Size Wedding Dresses

One of my friends set a date for their wedding at Christmas and she is finding it very difficult to find a dress in her size or even close that she could try on. She went to one bridal shop and had a bad experience and left the shop crying after the sales assistant was quite rude and told her she should loose weight (she has a medical condition and finds it difficult to loose weight) and now she says she wants to call off the wedding because of it.

Does anyone know anywhere in North East County Durham area that stock wedding dresses in plus sizes (UK28/30/32)?

I thought I might take her out for the day and possibly visit some bridal shops together, have a meal somewhere nice etc and try and cheer her up a bit.

This shop isn't in the North East, but it's well worth a day trip down here, it'd probably only take about 90minutes in the car down the A1 to Castleford from County Durham.

It's where I got my dress from and I honestly can't recommend them highly enough. The two ladies who own the shop, Paula and Lucy are both larger ladies and understand the problems us bigger girls can have, and they are so friendly and chatty! They stock up to a size 34 and you have to make an appointment but it's worth it as they close the shop for the hour or so that you are there so your friend won't have to worry about other people seeing her getting changed or anything. Give them a call - they are lovely and I'm sure they'll be able to help.
