**Poll about wedding reception tables**

Fran @ Hitched, 17 June, 2014 at 17:53 Posted on Planning 0 5

When it comes to wedding receptions the whole event is usually fun and very social, however, at some point everyone does need to eat and we’re seeing more and more couples opt to have what is known as a ‘sweetheart table’. A sweetheart table is a romantic table for two for the newlywed couple, as opposed to the bride and groom sitting at a traditional top table with family or getting involved on round tables with guests.

Will you be choosing to sit at a sweetheart table during your wedding breakfast, or will you be sticking to tradition and have a top table.

As always, your feedback and ideas are welcome and if you’re struggling with your table plan, why not use our free table planning tool, found in the members area!

Thanks in advance,

Fran

We cant have the traditional top table due to the fact that both of OH's parents have passed away. Also due to having 2 languages represented and many not able to speak both we are separating our tables by language so that everyone is comfortable on the day.

Traditional Smiley smile We have a mixture of the age old traditions and added "not so traditional" aspects.

We are both lucky to still have our parents and be very close to both sets, and we know that they (and us!) will love the complete limelight for the 90 minutes of the WB and showing off our new marriage to the 6 tables of 10 close family and friends =)

Sweetheart tables are a great idea as it gives the couple some alone time together. They can always mingle between courses and it can also help avoid top table dramas!

We are having a normal round table set in the middle of the others with both sets of parents, the maid of honor and best man who luckily are also a couple. That way we are amongst all our guests rather than looking out at them and partners of bridesmaid and groomsmen can still sit with them. Plus it's hard to talk to people at the end of the top table!
