Poll: Do you use the bog in front of your OH?

HaloHoney, 1 May, 2008 at 09:10 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 68

La Winkle's post has made me wonder (she had to ask MrW to urgently vacate the bathroom today) how many people would use the loo in front of their OH.

It's a no-go area for me. I will no longer lock the bathroom door (been feeling so sick I may need him to toss me a washing up bowl or a bottle of water), but actually using the loo in front of H is something I've never done in the 12 years of knowing him.

As much as we do share everything... this is one thing that neither of us feel the desire to share at all.

Are we freaks? Actually I think I know the answer to that... ?

For a wee - yes. There are some things that should be private though!

Pre-lodger we never used to lock the door when we went to the toilet - shut door was enough to indicate a need for privacy. If it's just us at the weekends I'll have a wee say if he's in the shower and I'm desperate - I won't do it if I don't particularly need to though.

I don't - and neither does he. I prefer not to go to the loo in front of the kids but will if desperate [for a wee only tho]

I lock the door when i have a bath/shower - bathroom time is private time for me iyswim - everything else i do small children come bursting in on me and i like to relax sometimes ?

He's come into the bathroom when I've been peeing before, but I don't poo unnecessarily in front of him (labour doesn't count), why would I? ?

Doesnt bother either of us if we are in need of going and the other one happens to be in the bathroom #1's or #2's (this only happens if we are on holidays though as we have 3 toilets at home so no need to be in the same place at the same time)

I can never understand those houses on Cribs who have "his'n'hers" bogs, in the same room. Why on earth would I want to sit on the bog at the same time as my H?! Unless its so it's obvious who leaves the skidders in the bottom of the toilet bowl... ?

For a wee yes, but def not a poo. He often feels the need to talk to me when I'm on the loo which does my head in.

Also he'll often go for a poo while i'm in the shower and doesn't understand why i'd much prefer him to go and use the other loo

No, it's something I just don't feel comfortable with at all. He has in front of me a few times and not something I really want to repeat if possible. ?

No we don't, although he always shuts the door and I don't always bother if I'm just going for a wee

    He's more of a prude than I am ?

WSS. Only if I'm desperate and he has just got into the bath and I suddenly realise I am busting for a wee. Otherwise I try and hang on (or shout at him to hurry up).

I wee in front of him quite a lot, I always seem to need to go when he is in the bath. I've only ever had to poo in front of him once, years ago.

We have both been known to wee in front of each other, and it doesn't bother me if he walks in and I'm having a wee. We don't even close the door unless we have guests.

No. 2's on the other hand are off limits, I couldn't stand him seeing me have a poo! The door gets closed but not locked.

Emergency no 1s only in from of husband.

Hoever, the three year old insists on coming into the bathroom every time I go and asking in a loud voice "are you doing a wee or a poo mummy?" I try not to go to the toilet with her in public.

Not on purpose but if he is in the shower and I need a wee then yes. I won't poo infront of him though. There is really no need to see faces or hear noises is there ?

He does have a rather bad habit of talking to me through the door when I'm trying to go which puts me off. He does it on purpose, I swear he does.

As a general rule, no, but if needs must... (there was a rather unpleasant tummy bug episode with both ends exploding at once that he was witness to?)

Sometimes if it's urgent. WTP doesn't really care and will wee at will.

As for the other, no. I am still traumatised over the episode which shall only be referred to as "The Borders Incident" ? where I was trapped and could not escape.

We frequently wee in front of each other, but I will not poo....that's private time ?....my husband is very eager to share that bodily function with me though. The number of times I have to ask him to close the door [xx(]....keeps the smell in if nothing else ?.

You might have to elaborate on that one ?

We have sufficient bathrooms for said situations never to arise ??

no we only have 3 toilets <inadequate>

however, one is done in italian marbel complemented by farrow and ball emulstion, one is embellished with terrazo tiles and the finest quality of porcelain, and the other is glamorous in its futuristic use of white and chrome.
