If you choose to have bridesmaids then they’ll play a huge role in supporting you during the run up to your big day. They might be able to attend wedding fairs with you, they can help out when it comes to assembling wedding favours, and you may ask them for their advice when it comes to finding the perfect wedding dress. Either way, your best girls will be close to you once the big day arrives.

Take a moment to answer the poll question below, and feel free to discuss whether or not choosing your bridesmaids was an easy or hard decision.

Thanks,

Fran

I am having 5 big bridesmaids, and 1 little one. Little one is my (only) niece. Big ones are my (only) sister, groom's (only) sister, and 3 close friends.

For me the choice was easy. I am pretty much the last of my friends to get married, and have only been maid for one of them, so didn't feel pressure to return the favour at all - bliss. I do feel that 5 big ones is a bit much, but hey, I'm hoping I only get married the once, so might as well have it with as many as I want. (Bridezilla moment). Smiley smile

I have four nieces, who have been looking forward to being my bridesmaids for most of their lives, so I never really had any choice ? I don't think they would talk to me again if I left any of them out. Aged 17 down to 10, so definitely all bridesmaids, not flower girls.

Two live in Singapore and two in Ireland, so finding and agreeing dresses is going to be tricky though.

Two - my best friend and FSIL! Originally it was three, as when me and H2B got engaged a friend presumed she was bridesmaid and I didn't have the heart to tell her she wasn't, but we've hardly spoken since October so it's back down to two!

I'm having two adults and my stepdaughter who will be nearly 9. At the moment I seem to spending more time choosing a dress for them than me!

Im having 4 bridesmaids. 3 female & one male. Each bridesmaid is a close individual friend & they only know of each other through me. The male bridesmaid will be coming on my hen do & will wear a suit with a waistcoat that matches the fabric of the bridesmaids dresses & have a large button hole that matches the bridesmaids flowers

Traditionally bridesmaids are suppose to be female but other traditions are no longer followed such as a white brides dress is suppose to represent a virgin bride.

Im sure some older guests may be confused by a male bridesmaid & feel its not appropriate but never mind.
