Possible 2016 in Berkshire

soraneko, 4 August, 2014 at 22:17 Posted on Planning 0 3

Hi all,

I have been suggested to come here if I need hints and tips in my area as I've only lived here for a year and a half, so might need some advice in regards to venues or vendors. I'd already been browsing as a guest and now we're engaged I thought I would actually sign up. We got engaged June this year, so not long but I'm already full of ideas and excitement!

At the moment all I have is these ideas and a H2B who is being rather non-commital right now... so the best I have at the moment date wise is "probably May/June 2016... ish" all depending on money and stuff. I would rather May 2015 (had a nice ring to it, IMO) but I'm sure it'll whizz by no matter what and at the end of the day I'll be glad for the extra planning time Smiley smile

Will be great to know a community of same-minded people are available to talk to when the planning really sets in! Will try to keep you all updated, will be good to have people to ooh and aah with as I kind of what the details to be kept as secret as possible to allow the full effect on guests...

As a starting point... what are peoples' opinons on using balloons as decorations at a wedding? I love balloons but the H2B keeps saying they'll look tacky, what do people think?

Congratulations! Personally, I'm a "no balloons" girl... I think most wedding photographers vote "no balloons" but it's your wedding and if you love them then go for it!

Congratulations? Balloons don't bother me, I seem to be blowing them up daily when my grandson is around??

I'm getting married in Berkshire, 2 weeks on Saturday! Smiley laugh Happy to answer question!

Personally I wouldn't have balloons at my wedding because I don't like them, but I wouldn't find it weird for others to have them at theirs!

Thank you Funny Bunny, congratulations and I shall definitely bear you in mind! Still pestering the H2B to help me sort a date/church/venue... ANYTHING... he's useless with organising, this is going to be VERY interesting!

Thank you guys for the replies, it's nice to get a response and I look forward to getting your help in the future!
