Is it Aunty or Auntie? Google is not immediately answering me

    I use the "ie" version... but then in this situation I always chose the "ie" over the "y". For example, I am a Charlie rather than a Charley. No idea why!! There probably isn't a set rule for it. One is probably American Smiley smile x

    No idea why but i have an Aunty Gill but an Auntie Sarah!

    I don't know!

    I'm an Auntie Ali in cards from my niece/nephew but I write Aunty Chris to my aunt. Google says both are right?!

    I'm glad I wasn't the only one confused. I expected it to be one of those words with a convoluted explanation as to when and why you use either version that I would struggle to remember in future

    I always use Auntie and have only seen that on birthday cards etc I think.

    Just a thought - maybe to do with the letter at the beginning of the name? I've always used Auntie but all my aunts' names begin with a consonant. I'm probably overthinking this!! I suspect it doesn't matter either way ?
