Present for bridesmaid?

MrsParsons2b, 13 April, 2011 at 11:45 Posted on Planning 0 14

Not sure what to give to my bridesmaid at the reception?

Was thinking maybe a friendship ornament, but not sure which one...

What are you getting for your BM? xx

Bls - if you are looking for something for their place setting, have you see Lynseys wine charms?

Pictures don't show how cute they are - but a cheap pressie they are indeed. http://www.facebook.com/#!/photo.php?fbid=149472375068655&set=a.149472048402021.34048.138437779505448&type=1&theater

2 of my ladies have the above, to go with a bottle of champagne with a personaled bottle label (ebay - £2). And they all have a lovely necklace, and a compact mirror too. And of course they will be getting a heartfelt hug and personalised thank you card.

Mine are being spoilt - but they deserve to be!

I've got mine a bracelet and a necklace (to be worn on the day), a lovely little clutch bag and a 'My beautiful bridesmaid' journal. I'll be giving them those things the night before/the morning of the wedding. We've also decided to treat all of our bridal party to dinner at a private dining room a few months later so they'll receive an invitation to that by way of a thank you during the speeches. It'll be for them to open in their own time, there won't be a big thing made of it.

I'll be getting similar things to Cricket Bride (have seen some lovely clutches on etsy with a bridesmaid label on the inside).

One thing I'd mention is that I went to a wedding last Saturday where there were 8 bridesmaids (1 big and 7 little), During the groom's speech, they called up every BM to give her present. They also gave presents to the two best men, two ushers, parents, readers, musicians etc. This made the groom's speech almost an hour long. Unless you're only giving one or two presents, I'd really advise to give them in private the morning of the wedding or the night before. It's really boring for the guests to have to sit through 20 people receiving presents!

    Hi there

Quite a few hitchers have bought personalised bracelets from me recently. They are a lovely keepsake and really personal. There sterling silver charms can be added to most of my designs on www.louloubelle.co.uk but there's a few examples below and different fonts are available. (One of these is for Cricket Bride's BMs in fact!)

If you'd like a quote please drop me an email on ****@***********.**.**

Otherwise, there's loads more suitable present ideas on the website. If they need jewellery to wear with their dress this could double up as the present perhaps. I got my BMs (as well as their freshwater pearl jewellery) and voucher for afternoon tea for us all to go out together and an engraved mirror compact from 24 Studio.

I am giving my maids their jewellery and a make up set from Benefit the morning of the wedding.

During the speeches they will get a little gift bag and inside is a lovely wodden plaque with their name, a thank you message, the wedding date and our married names - got these on ebay for £5 each.

Have also got them x3 mini yankee candles "wedding day", "sun, sea & sand" and "ocean breeze" ... which ties in with our seaside theme.

    Hi,

Do they have any hobbies or interests and make the present personal that way? I got my bm a bag and made her jewellery that she could wear again and again.

If you want any jewellery ideas have a nosey at my website www.lynseysdesigns.co.uk and facebook page www.facebook.com/lynseysdesigns1. I've got sterling silver pendants starting from £11 and anything can be colour co-ordinated.

Popular jewellery presents have been this SATC inspired design with Sterling Silver chain and Swarovski Crystals and inital charms like this .

If you order 2 or more bracelets I'm offering free sterling silver charms (can be free initial charms or you can upgrade to a different charm) http://www.facebook.com/album.php?id=138437779505448&aid=27972#!/note.php?note_id=207414705951655. These are engraved charms

The wine charms Little Madam mentioned (thanks for the recommendation) are on the website and use the same engraved charms as above. Drop me an email if I can help at all. x

Personalised wine glasses etc are nice but I think they're only worth while if they'll actually get used. I'm most likely getting a pandora charm for the BM with the pandora bracelet, and then presents that fir the other bridesmaids' interests. Much nicer than getting something just cos it seems the right thing or the typical bridesmaid present!

I've got 4 older bridesmaids and I've got them all silver necklaces with 4 hearts on them.

The two little ones have got bracelets with their names on them and "Bride" Barbie's.
