Royalty, 5 March, 2009 at 11:50 Posted on Planning 0 17

What are you all getting you H2Bs as a wedding present?

I am totally stuck for ideas, i don't really just want to get him the usual cuff links, watch etc

Any ideas welcome!

You could be creative and make him something that will last like a poem or song, or if you think that's a bit cheesy, why not something that he's interested in, if he likes travelling, a nice travel shaving set. It depends on yuor budget and your hubby2b

I made my H a "This is Our Life" book. I personalised a photo album and put in pictures and scribbled memories and attached silly souvenirs etc. I left a page near the middle for a wedding photo and wrte To Be Continued...

I am going to sound like a right meanie but i am not getting my OH anything - i dont want anything either, we are spending enough on the wedding and honeymoon so i dont think a presant is necessary.

Same here. Wedding is day after my birthday, so I wouldn't expect H2B to get me two presents, and as I've said before, he's getting me for a wife so what more could he want?

I'm thinking of getting him his favourite aftershave (and my favourite too!) so he can wear it on the day. He's not bought it for a while as its quite expensive for "everyday" wear, so it would be an appreciated gift!

If he goes out and buys it beforehand, I might be a bit stuck though!

I wasn't planning on getting him anything but was going to write him a bit of a soppy letter in a card for him to read before the wedding - however I love the 'This is Our Life' scrapbook idea!! Would be fun to make, too. hmmm....*ponders*

I bought my H2B a painting as an engagement present and have commissioned the same artist to paint a picture of the church for a wedding present. Only £85 so really not that expensive.

I am also considering making my own version of this:

This is your life thing is great but I have already done one for him. It took ages but he absolutely loved it.

I am considering buying him a Tag Heuer watch as I know he'd really like one and I'm hoping to get one for around half the retail price. If that doesn't work out then I don't know as I can't afford full price ?

I have gone for the watch, as he loves his watches. Has been hinting for one since last xmas. I am currently paying for it monthly, so no big expense, as it cost £115 and got 10% of it. Hoping to get it ingraved on the back with our Married initals and wedding day. If it fits on! Its a rottary watch for best.

My H2B lost his dad 10 yrs ago and I know he will miss him greatly on the wedding, I asked his mum a few years ago for some photos of him and his dad together, which was a hard thing to do as he doesnt speak to his mum, but to my surprise she did send a few. He has a favourite one and I have decided to get it blown up for him, get it framed and he can put that up in the house anywhere he wants, im also going to get a wallet sized one done so he can put it in his suit pocket so his dad will be with him on the wedding day.

Think that will mean alot to him and thats all you need to do, is get your H2B that will mean something, I dont think you can go wrong with photos as its memories.

Haha, I may take you up on that! I have 14months to go yet, so I'll let you know a bit closer to the time (& have a look on your website in the meantime!)?

What a lovely, thoughtful idea. I'm sure your H2B will be absolutely touched by it, and that you made the effort to contact his mum, etc, in order to do something like that for him that you knew would really mean something.
