It's the 2nd book to the secret diary - They are on the similar line to Shopaholic series.

I won't be opening presents until after Dinner , so that's 6pmish & then after 8 (pm that is) It's my Birthday, as that's when I was laid in the manger, well incubator as I arrived 8 weeks early.

Have a great day & for those missing loved ones ?

    xx

Well our christmas was yesterday (Swedish is the 24th) and I got some great things!

    Huge box of Lindt chocs

matching glass mats (I think that is what you call them...) and decorative bowl that will go perfect in my new flat

a beautiful shoe ring holder (really pretty actually). I got this and the one above from my dad's partner and she usually has no idea what I would like or really what I am like so I am so very pleased. Not that I was ever ungreatful for her efforts (including big gold coloured pine cone decoration thing made of plaster for the fireplace 2 years ago) but these things are great?

    digital photoframe

a very pretty ring from my mom, kind of matches bracelet she got me last year

and from oh I got a box with notes in where I got to open one everytime he said so and it was activities for the entire day. breakfast in bed, Skiinglessons, lunch in the piste and spa/thermal baths for the afternoon after skiing. There are still 2 things to go but we are spreading them out between my christmas and his which is today.

So I am very very happy and very very fortunate I have to say

We did presents yesterday as Mr Beast is on nghts so will be asleep all day.

I got Chanel Chance perfume and a gorgeous diamante skull and crossbones necklace (I asked for these). Also the QI annual, Say-le-bles board game and this fantastic contraption /collections/gadgets-tech-gifts for scanning all my old slides into digital. My dad's also got hundreds from family holidays when we were kids so it'll be great to have access to them instead of them mouldering away in a drawer.

I'll update on Boxing day and the 27th which is when we visit the parents.

Also a small umbrella, comfy neck strap for my camera, a dressing gown, red and black stripy knee high socks, Obilivion for X-box, Paramore CD and a soft toy Welsh dragon on keyring. Oh and I forgot my fine grater with a plastic thing underneath to catch the food ?

My H was very generous considering it was meant to be a £20 budget each - we both didn't stick to it.

    Take That album

    Take That calendar

Massive box of clinique skin care stuff - I asked for the sparkle skin exfoliator and got lots more

    3 books

A sesame street Oscar the Grouch hoodie (silly gift) only XL according to play.com is size 12-14 so it's somewhat small for me! That's going to be exchanged.

And my Mum, Dad and Grandad have given us enough cash to cover the cost of the new TV we've just bought for our bedroom, or we could put it towards the new fridge freezer we have to get in the sales.

My sister got us a box of chocs and £20 John lewis vouchers

Odd present of the day is from H's parents (they specialise in them) - a weird figurine table lamp - we don't have a table to put it on! It's now in a cupboard and will be brought out if they ever come and visit.

H got me Lips singing game for the X Box, all four series of Big Cat Diary with a cuddley Simba in the box with them and a tambourine because for some reason I am obsessed with playing them.

He is going to have a christmas of me singing badly then banging around with my tambourine and then crying my eyes out watching the DVDs.

A David Tennant calendar (yum) - I now have two - one for work and one for home.

A mini bottle of cava and truffles

    Some luxury jams

    £20 theatre tokens (fabbity fab)

Mamma Mia DVD, Singstar Abba, posh balsamic vinegar and oil from Hotel Chocolat, smellies from the Sanctuary, Lost in Blue 2 for the DS, slipper boots and new jammies and a far few other bits. We still have presents from MrSC's parents to get tomorrow. We've been playing Mario Kart on his new Wii. My main present was my GHDs which I've had for a bit now.

Very happy with my haul ?. My mum hasn't seen Mamma Mia yet so I'm hoping to watch it with her at some point in the next couple of days.

    And then, amongst others:

Ear muffs, 2 x pyrex dishes, smellies, chocolate orange, scarf, new mugs, take calendar and a chocolate variety pack.

MrMG and I got each other a new fish tank (marine fish, we've only got tropical) and yesterday we went to choose each other a fish for Xmas. So - I got a Nemo!! ?

    Very pleased.

Not so happy re MIL. I am going to have to deal with this at some point, but I don't know how to broach it without seeming really ungrateful. (definitely not immediately after present receipt!) She got me some Chanel perfume and soap - easily over £50. Thing is... I have a sample size Clinique perfume that has so far lasted me about 5 years ? And I don't use soap at all. And tbh, even if I did - I think that Chanel etc soap is just vastly over priced to the extent of being obscene. I feel really bad that she spends so much (she can afford it, but that's not the point). It'd be OK if it wasn't really my thing but I'd use it up anyway... but I literally do not ever touch soap. I don't wear make up and I'm clearly not 'girlie' so I had hoped she'd get the idea. But this is too regular. I don't think I can tell her I won't use the stuff at all - maybe I could tell her it's rare, and the 'lovely' stuff I had last year is still keeping me going... she gets me perfume several times a year when she's coming back from hols - and it's all still sealed. Aaaargh - I feel really guilty and ungrateful! But I hate waste...

    Anyway - Merry Xmas all!

Smitten - love the pants idea!

MarineGirl - I know what you mean but maybe say something like thanks for the perfume but I've got so much now and only wear it on special occasions so please don't get me any next year. You may be able to sell the Chanel stuff on e-bay if it's unopened.

I got my first set of GHDs, an amazing necklace from a local jewellery designer in Guildford called Simon Pure, an Animal fleece, Oakley beanie, posh corkscrew, ski boot bag, Next belt, top 3 pack & socks, 2 CDs and a DS game from my H and Mum - more tomorrow when we swap with my sis!

    Happy Christmas all hitchers!

Well I got a lovely purple ipod nano off my OH and a few other bits but my MIL has well and truly spoilt me rotten. My main present from her was a docking station for my ipod but she got me so many lovely things there's too much to list. I spent about an hour of this morning in tears over how generous she has been yet again.

I did well this year too

From H, Vera Wang Bouquet perfume, shower gel & lotion, a book, Animal Crossing for Wii and the promise of a white gold necklace.

From Sister, slippers, Sophie Conran for Portmerion teapot, (I got a footed cake plate in same range for my last birthday)

From Mum: a plant (Hellibore (Sp?)which was delivered about 10 days ago) a jumper, some teatowels and a tablecloth.

From Brother: Money - for all of us actually - could buy family ticket to somewhere perhaps?

From IL's: some chocs and some Protect & Perfect serum.

From BIL/SIL a Jamie Oliver Flavour Shaker. Hmm not sure if this will do anything more than a pestle & mortar but we shall see.

From friend - hat, scarf & necklace

Some Next smellies from my Sister's MIL.

Seeing the PIL tomorrow, they may bring things from H's other Sisters - but possibly just for the children.

A watch, Spaced box set, James Morrison and Simply Red CD, necklace and earrings, 2 hats for when we go to watch sandracing. Honestly I only have 1 head, but maybe H thinks differently!

This year I have so many bottles of nice wine that I shall be slightly inebriated for the next few months! My Mum and Dad bought me a fab corkscrew, which is fab but all bottles above are screw cap! I may have to buy more wine to try it out!
