Presents for Brothers

Knees, 23 November, 2011 at 11:56 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 11

What have you got/are you getting for your brothers/brothers-in-law for Christmas? I have been sitting here all morning trying to come up with ideas but I'm completely stuck!

I have Mr B's three brothers to buy for, plus my sister's husband. I've previously got couple gifts, but the girls are so easy to buy for and I've seen so many things I could get them, so I want to get separate gifts for the men.

They are all reasonably sporty and reasonably techie.

Any inspiration?

    On a more constructive note....

men are sooo hard to buy for.... do they follow particular sports? IE could you get them something team related or sports star related? books? etc

I think vouchers would be a safe bet.

I would ask your sister for suggestions of things her H might like. I would personally be shifting the responibiity of BILs' presents onto your H. He knows them better than you do.

The first part of your suggestion is probably what I'll do. The second part? No way. Mr B is the most hopeless person for presents ever - fact. He once bought one of his brothers a red flashing light for Christmas. Like a child would use to play policemen. But they were grown up. You see what I mean.

I've got my brother a Keith Lemon "Potato" T-Shirt and some olive serving dishes. I'll get jars of posh olives and some other foodie things and make up a hamper too, because he's a foodie who can't really afford to be!!

This year, I have bought my brother a box of Jelly Bellys, a whoopee cushion (no idea why, just saw it and grabbed it), some Paul Smith aftershave and £50 worth of banknotes. I always buy him a little science/gadgety thing (previous presents have included a crystal-growing kit, a mini-microscope etc) but need to buy one for this year.

It is a similar array of crap - minus the cash - for Boy's (and now my!) brother-in-law.

Neither of them do much apart from work, eat takeaway, play on computers and dick around with cars so, as much as I'd like to spoil them with foodie/restaurant/theatre/etc things, it really would be a waste.
