I'd be interested to know this! We went on the budget of £550 hitched 'supplied' but now seem to be struggling to find tog prices in that area.

I'd also be interested in what percentage of budget people spend on togs

    We're paying £1250 and get:

Coverage from prep to first dance

    Engagment/"In Love" shoot

Minimum of 300 images with print licence

    Online slideshow

    Online gallery

We budgeted (and expected to pay) far more to be honest but our Tog said she likes the kind of weddings & couples she books within that price bracket. Apparently when she was charging more she just got a lot of arsey rich people ?

It's a difficult one, but I think if you contact a few togs you like just see who goes above and beyond for you. My bro and sister in law paid £800 for their photographer and he just did a simple black and white conversion in photoshop and got away with doing very little. Doh! happy shopping Smiley winking

£1450 this includes engagement/Pre wedding shoot. We get 250-300 photos in full resolution on disc.

the price doesn't include the £300 for the album/storybook.

i love my Tog certainly worth every penny... She's great!

We're paying £1850 for a two tog team on a supply only basis for all day.

Same as we charge... so in a weird way we'll be shooting a wedding to pay for our own photography.

9 hours coverage, pre wedding shoot, DVD of edited shots (approx 400), a couple of prints and licence to print ourselves for £1550. The albums are more but we're not sure which album to get yet, still deciding!

I think it would be helpful to say who their photographer is rather than just listing coverage and albums etc.

The thing is there is big differences between the quality of photography between photographers, and just stating what's included in the package doesn't take into account.

Chris, that might be helpful for you but there's lots of togs out there, spread all over the country, names might not mean much.

Also, togs might offer different prices for days, venues, style of wedding, location, duration, so a comprehensive comparison probably isn't feasible. But it's nice to get a rough idea I think. Smiley smile

£1400 - way more than we'd budgeted for as we were just going to have a friend do it for free. Until I looked at his pictures!

I know nothing about photography but have somehow been really picky. I don't like a lot of stuff, I like real emotions, bright colours, not overly styled stuff, not heads chopped off and not rings shoved on the end of a stiletto heel! I wanted Chris Giles but he's getting married the day before me so my search continued and I eventually found Ed Godden.

We get coverage for the whole day (first prep til an hour after the first dance) and at least 500 hi-res images on a USB stick plus an engagement shoot. It is a LOT of money, especially since we're also paying over £2000 for our videographer (a major focus, https://www.everaftervideos.com/) but after it's all done, this is what we'll have left and I don't want to regret my choice ?

I went with Angela Barnes following another bride recommending her on here... Felt like I checked out dozens of photographers after joining this site. She is awesome and just so down to earth when we met I could have chatted with her for hours.

im so grateful I found her!

£700, including Bridal prep to first dance.

All images on disc without watermark for person printing, all images on site for guests, all images printed 4x6 in a sleeve. Also got the 'photo prop/booth' thrown in for that price.

We are paying £1750 and we get our photographer for the full day, a disc of photos and a pre wedding shoot (which is next week actually!). I never planned on spending that much on a TOG. However I've got to say that it's the only lasting thing from the day (bar your marriage of course!!) so when we started looking at various TOGS and speaking with them it quickly became apparant that the quality differs massively between them. I spoke to one who was charging around £500 for thefull day but he openly admitted he has shot 1000's of weddings, doesn;t really like them and knows to take the exact same shots at every wedding! Very sterile and not someone i would want there on our day. The TOG we have booed with was lovely, didn;t try any hard sales, let his work speak for himself, his work is amazing and we just clicked with him, which we didn;t with any of the others we met.

Haha I know, it was one of the first things we did as well, talk to some Togs, and he was the first one we met, after contacting his website and then being harrassed until we booked an appointment with them. Very strange, but very cheap, which is the only reason they must get any business from anyone!

I find that really sad, if you're only shooting weddings for the money and saying that to clients it's pretty disrespectful/you're telling people you don't really care about their day and they're a job to you- why stay in a job you don't love? Especially when it's such an important day for the client! It's not like a standard business transaction! Smiley sad

    Yep. That!

Too many people are coming into this industry to shoot weddings just for money. Sometimes, pocket money. Yes, all true professionals are in this line of work to make a living as well, and there is nothing wrong with that. But most professionals who shoot weddings do understand all the personal feelings and emotions their clients are experiencing, and our work has to involve an element of caring about, and respecting, these feelings and emotions.

Therein lies the difference between the price of your wedding photography and the cost...

Not liking weddings is fine. Telling or implying to your clients that they are merely a pot of money, to me, is incredibly wrong, especially in these circumstances where couples are lavishing so much care and attention on their big day!

Sorry.. Went way off topic there... Just a bit shaken... (not stirred)

PS: My thoughts are about the wedding photography industry in general, and not merely about this one example.

    Hello,

We are paying £280 for coverage of the ceremony, individual photos and the start of the reception, all images on disc

I decided I didn't want someone capturing me whilst I was pre ready and also I hate it when your at a wedding trying to enjoy the wedding breakfast and someone is walking around taking photos.

We also realised that we didn't need professional shots of the speeches or evening as everyone would bring cameras ( some high tech ) that we could get prints from for less formal shots.

All this coupled with us being on a budget has worked out well,

Our photographer is a young quirky girl and I got on very well with her when we met, she is also bringing props for mine and HTB private shots in the park

Learn from my lesson, look at the photographs and then the price. If I'm honest all the cheaper photographers I looked at I didn't like their photos half as much, although I tried to convince myself I did. We have gone with a more expensive one but these are one of the only memories of your day! x

Hiya, not wanting to be negative but the speeches can often be one of the most difficult parts of the day to photograph, particularly if you have a top table with a window behind you. Just something to bear in mind, if you can stretch to having these photographed professionally I'd consider it. They're often my favourite photos to edit, get some brilliant expressions ?

£1,750 for engagement shoot (which we don't really want to be honest!), coverage on the day and pics on disc. Much more than I thought we would pay but his pictures are AMAZING and we have budgeted elsewhere to afford him.

I understand your point, however I will be happy just having shots of poeple from earlier in the day and our couple shots, were also going to have some homestyle video footage of the day, being done by both my cousin and my HTB best friend so I can edit that to have the memories of the speeches ! can't afford a Vog and i recently did this for my cousin and was happy with the outcome ?
