Price per head query

ExpensivePinkHair118, 22 February, 2014 at 09:48 Posted on Planning 0 9

Hi guys, this might sound like a silly question but I'm getting a bit muddled with venue budgets. If it gives a cost per head is that for daytime and evening guests or would extra evening guests be a different price generally?

This depends on the venue but most hotels/wedding venues make their money with the food. So for the day you have a per head amount which often includes the evening buffet too. Any extras in the evening you pay per head but most places only ask u pay for 80% of evening guests as not everybody will eat.

mine is £110 per head in the day which includes the evening buffet

then I add any evening guests to that, work out 80% of the number and pay the extra for that. Sounds complicated but it isn't.

some venues don't do this but a lot do as it's how they make money xxx

    hope this helps.....

As bubbles says - generally this price would include an evening buffet. Then you'd pay a reduced amount for any additional evening guests.

Always ask the venue to provide a list of exactly what's included in the 'per head' price.

Also, keep an eye out for venue hire charges on top of the per head price.

Venues operate different policies so it's worth checking exactly what's included in your day guest rate and what's not, and then what extras you need to pay for any evening supplies for both day and evening guests.

This made me check mine lol! Ours is separate - so the price for the wedding breakfast plus the price for the buffet.

I'd check with the venue if I was you - our price per head for day guests covers the wedding breakfast and the venue hire for the whole time. The canapés, evening buffet, and drinks packaged are priced separately

It would be best to ask your venue as each one is different.

Our has one price for day guests which includes the evening buffet, and one price for evening guests.

    Hi,

Yes that confused me too. Different venues doing it completely differently, in the end I think our venue had one price for all day guests and a much reduced amount for the evening guests.
