Problems with dresses

petitefilous, 1 September, 2009 at 15:47 Posted on Planning 0 1

Hi,

I'm getting married on 3rd October and starting to get a little bit worried about some dress issues!!

I've got 3 Bridesmaids (adult, 12 yrs, 10 yrs) but only 2 dresses, the 12 yr old has been ordered a size 12 instead of an age 12!! The shop has done an emergency order on 3rd August but said that it'll take 6 weeks (approx 14th September - 2 weeks before wedding) I wasn't too worried at time, but now she's back at school and lives an hours drive away, it's making it hard for fittings, the shop said that we can do the fittings on a Saturday as they should have noticed manufacturer sent wrong size but still a little tight.

The other problem is that I brought my dress off the peg, so have to sort out own fittings. The lady who was going to do mine has had to go into hospital to ahve a tumour removed and she has said she will take my dress to her friend who is also qualified wedding dress alterer, but I haven't heard anything since. I know she said her friend was on holiday until today, but I'm starting to worry that I don't have contact number for new alterer or a full address. I don't want to hassle a lady who has obviously got her own problems, but my Mum and Dad keep going on about it and that's making me stress over it. I was going to give her til Thursday to contact me and then if not contact the original lady on Friday.

What does everyone think? I think I'm just having a few little nerves and not sure the rents are helping!!!

Ta X

I know, I've not panicked or been stressed about anything until now. It just seems to have started over night - it must be that it's getting quite close now and I can't keep telling myself that I've got months, it's now changed to a month!

Positive Mental Attitude - it'll be my new mantra! ?
