Pub wedding venue options

Wellingtonia, 22 May, 2013 at 14:05 Posted on Planning 0 6

Looking at the idea of a pub wedding venue, a laid back feel with nice outdoor space. Hopefully with no venue fee, just paying for food and drink which I know is possible at places. Capacity for around 80 people. Any recommendations out there for Berkshire/South East? Thanks

Hi there! No recommendations for your area but we are doing this!! This is our pub below (it's attached to a hotel so we get to use that for the wedding breakfast as well) and then the put for the after do, dancing and drinking and general merryness! I think its an awesome idea. We are just paying for food and drink too (it just had to cover a minimum cost)

I think if you make a list of pubs in that area most would be happy to help I'm sure especially with the economy, I can't see any pub turning away 80 drinkers for a day Smiley smile We actually approached a local restaurant/pub which was a brewers fayre type pub, it had a travel Inn on the side and they were more than happy to do a wedding breakfast and disco afterwards, said they would section off one side of the pub & would bend over backwards to make it nice.

We have however since changed our plans and are off to Scotland but otherwise they wanted no hire fee or anything just what you would pay for a meal which was £10.49 per head for two courses with our own wedding cake for dessert. Worked out cheap as chips and they said we could dress the venue anytime that morning.

It wasn't a 'wedding venue' as such but they were happy to help, just do a similar thing, make a list and ring around Smiley smile Good luck

    Hi

Not sure if this is in the right area but the Crown at Radnage is lovely. The food especially! Don't know how their packages work but it's a lovely place, it's just into Bucks but not for from the Berkshire border I don't think!

    Hi There

Unfortunatley I don't know of one in Berkshire, but there is a lovely one called Waggons and Horses is based in Elstree, Hertfordshire.

They have a fireplace and a library, really lovely. Here is a link https://www.waggonhorses.co.uk/gallery.html

The owner's name is Rob, would definitely be worth going past for a viewing if the area is not to far for you.

    Kind regards
    Idit

Hi. Can't help in your area, but this is what we are doing too ? Getting married in registry office then off to the pub for food and drinks and no charge for venue.
