Puppies for sale - how much £££££ ?

GMT, 4 July, 2008 at 12:42 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 8

One of Mr GMTs friends is planning to sell her puppies. They are, I think collie-labs crossed with some kind of gun dog / working dog - forget which.

Any ideas what would be a reasonable price to charge for them? Or are there some web sites where she could go and get a 'feel' for what's right?

They'd be vaccinated and checked and all that gubbins.

Do people pay for cross breeds then? I never knew that. Why would you buy one?

Whatever it costs to get them vaccinated and checked out. Say £50 to weed out some of the time-wasters.

What FN said unless it's a labradoodle or something. We paid about £300 I think for our pedigree labrador. When we were looking all the cross breds we came across were free.

I doubt she'll get much interest if she charges too much, as they're not pedigrees. I think if you eg rescued a dog through the RSPCA they charge you £50 for vaccinations etc admin and all that, so I'd have thought that or less.

Looking in the small ads round our way it seems that often people do charge for cross breeds - more often than not, apparently. I suppose it depends what they are crossed with!!!!!!

I would assume "free to good homes" if they're cross breeds. We paid A LOT for Woody (Cocker Spaniel) four years ago but he's worth every penny.
