Purple flowers??

sophamie, 8 July, 2012 at 19:17 Posted on Planning 0 7

So my colour theme is along the lines of cadburys purple and a subtle gold. I'm trying to find real flowers that would go with this, but I have no idea as to what flowers are that sort of purple, and vaguely in season in May. I'm not a big fan of heather or thistle, does anyone have any suggestions?

You can get some lovely orchids in purple (we're having orchids), also Statice, Lisianthus, Sweetpeas, Hyacinths, Hydranga's erm...can't think of anymore. I have no clue about the seasons though, sorry!

There's a few in purple but they may not necessarily be Cadbury shade. Mother Nature tends to do her own thing in that department Smiley winking This site may help you:-

Purple lisianthus is about the nearest to Cadbury purple. Hope that helps.

One of my favorite flowers comes in a range of shades of purple as well as white, they are in season from April to July, so not very expensive, and they smell wonderfull. You can often see them in M&S store bouquets.

    Hello,

This page on hitched is dedicated purely to purple wedding flowers:

It could give you some inspiration.

Maybe you could save the images you love in to your online scrapbook, or maybe make a moodboard on hitched of the flowers and details you love?

    Happy planning...

Hi, we went for artificial flowers just so you don't have to wait for what's in season, but remember just because your cadbury's purple you can blend in shades of purple with it. My BM's are in cadbury's purple dresses but the posy is cream roses and lilac japanse rosies.

Hope this helps have attached a photo of their posy and its all artificial Smiley smile
