QQ about DLA forms if anyone knows?

Nicolaaaa, 17 July, 2009 at 16:39 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 5

Afternoon! Google is not my friend today.

My youngest son gets DLA and I have just been asked to apply for mobility. Does anyone know if I have to fill the whole thing in again or just the mobility section? I have been hanging on to the helpline for ages and then got cut off!

We were told to do the whole form when Jonny was about to turn 3 and become eligible for the mobility component, J has very impaired mobility and it has a major effect on lots of the areas of the form not just those about distance walked, but to do with things like self-help, needing someone with them outside of the home / to engage in activities. In fact our care component went up compared to when our original assessment was made.

Thanks CL, just as I feared. I hate that form. T is turning three in September so I assume that is why I have to do it now. Right then I shall dig out the last one and do it again.

    Thank you ?

Have you got the electronic version from the DLA website, you can then cut and paste the relevant bits and save a copy. Makes future applications much easier.

No you don't. If you are just applying for the mobility in addition to the care which you already have and does not run out for a while you just write 'no change' across each page of the care bit of the form. (That's what we were told anyway).
