Quantum Leap

Did anyone else used to love this programme?

I've just caught an episode today on Sci-Fi and it takes me back to my childhood. Tuesday nights were the only night I was allowed to stay up late to watch it and I loved it!

I used to ❤️ Sam Beckett, despite him being far too old for me ? I was gutted in the final episode when he didn't get to go back home.

Aw I loved Quantum Leap! Me and my dad used to sit and watch it together.

Always amusing when he played a girl. I remember clearly the episode when he went back to his own house and the episode where he played a guy with special needs. I also remember the last episode.

That's the last episode isn't it Wuzzle? I remember crying at the end of the last one when I found out what happened to Sam.

I loved QL! It's currently downloading on our lame top-up-tv thing, so am saving them to watch on a day off.

Was there an episode where he had to save his brother? Or did I dream it?

No there's an earlier one where he tells Al he can't change history and doesn't tell Beth that Al is still alive, so she still goes on to remarry. In the last episode Sam goes back to rectify his mistake and tells Beth to wait for Al and they stay married.

It's quite upsetting because I've read the books and the reason Al and Sam met is because Al was having a bit of a breakdown and Sam helped him through it. I spent ages afterwards trying to figure out if Al ever met Sam after history had been changed.

That was the one after the leap home. He leapt into Vietnam to save his brother.

I'd like to watch them from the start, although I do get a little creeped out by Al now as H watched the new battlestar galactica and I don't like the character Dean Stockwell plays in that.

Is that the one where Al did something heroic that saved the life of the polizter prize winning photographer which meant he spent all those years as a prisoner of war? What exactly did he do? I know Sam only found out at the end when they were looking through the photos?

Would love to see the last episode again, I remember he didn't make it home but not the details ?

Wasn't there an evil woman who was quantum leaping too doing bad things? Or did I dream that?

I don't think Al saved her, he was the POW that was in the photo which won her the prize though. Although I'm remembering this from the book and not the actual programme. Or it might have been that Al could have shouted for help and she would have been shot and he just kept quiet?

Sam realised in the last episode that he was in control of the leaping (hence going back to save Al's marriage), so he chose to continue leaping and not to return home.

I think the evil one was called Alexa, or Alexis. Her 'Al' was called Zoe. I think she was evil for a couple of leaps and then turned good....

Ahh, that could have been something along those lines....

I didn't know Sam was in control of the leaps? How so? Why did he only just realise that? If he was in control how come he never returned home?

That's what he was told at the end by Al the bartender. No idea why he only just realised that, I assume Ziggy had something to do with how he leaped?? Was never explained.

He must have made the decision not to go home, probably because he wanted to continue helping people and because of his memory he never realised he had a wife and daughter to go back home for.

I loved that programme! I forgot that he never went home, and now feel ?

For some reason, the name 'Scott Bakula' (said with an atrocious fake american accent) still makes me laugh hysterically now!
