Question about estate agent contracts.

sweet-cheeks, 30 November, 2009 at 19:23 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0

Ive signed this contract with an estate agent for 21 weeks today by mistake. I dont want to go with them now, does anyone have any ideas who to get out of this contract? cooling off period? They havent advertised anything yet. Sweet cheeks.

I think they are suppose to offer a 7 day cooling off period, but this can be waived if you signed to waive it? it may be in their standard contract if you did.

To be honest, most agents would hold you to it if you signed the contract, and if you went with another agent and sold in the 21 weeks then they could take you to court for breaching the original contract, although I am not sure how much weight the contracts actually hold in court.

You could just try talking to them. What made you change your mind?

Although 21 weeks is ages, is there also a 2 weeks notice period on that (which can be pretty standard as well)
