Question about proof of address (giving notice)

Bamboozledbride, 31 July, 2015 at 08:06 Posted on Planning 0 2

Hi everyone, I'm going to give notice on the 10th of august and I've been told to bring something with my proof of address on it. I only have a provisional licence and although my address is on there they said to bring additional proof. The utility bills are in my OH's name so all I can provide would be a bank statement. The problem is that I no longer get paper statements and when I went online to request one it wouldn't let me do it and I just kept getting an error message. So I rang the bank and the lady I spoke to said that I could print one off, it shows the date and my address but my OH is concerned that they won't accept one that I've printed off myself ? I know it's a bit of a random question but I tried calling the registry office to ask and the woman I spoke to didn't know, she said it "should" be ok, but the last thing I want is to go and they won't accept it arghhhhh!! So I was wondering if anyone had used a print off for their proof of address or whether it wouldn't be considered official?

You can go into the bank and they can print a statement off with your address on it and they have a stamp they put on it too. Or I've used a letter from the bank as proof of address before as they still send out letters (or Halifax does :-) ) xxx
