Question for old marrieds...

Mrs_imp, 6 October, 2011 at 10:49 Posted on Planning 0 9

I'm trying to decide about my veil and whether I need anything else in my hair. Having never worn one before I am not sure if it's going to drive me mad! I am going for a chapel length veil so I know by the time I am dancing I will probably want it off.

If you wore a veil how long did you leave it on for? If you took it off before the end of the night, was it because it was annoying you or another reason?

Min was cathedral length which I had planned to remove in the evening but ended up leaving it on and it didn't bother me at all. It also looked really nice in the pics of the first dance.

I took mine off after the 'official' cake cutting picture with tog - this was before our meal.

I cant say it annoyed me - only when people hugged me & they pulled on it by accident!

Mine was a 2 tier cathedral length veil.

I too had a cathedral length veil and planed to take it off for the evening. i ended up taking it off for an hour (while sat down for meal) it then went straight back on for the rest of the day/night. Im pleased i did leave it on, I love my first dance pics.

One of my friends warned me about the hugging!

Thanks for the advice everyone, I would really like to leave it on all night as I think my hair will look really plain otherwise. So to hear that a few of you left it on all night is a good thing!

I had an elbow-length 2 tier veil. I took it off just before the evening do started. I think I took it off as a symbolic 'I'm letting my hair down' to be a bit more relaxed in the evening iykwim.

I don't have one at the moment, I am unsure whether to spend the money on one. I really want a quite relaxed/boho looking hairstyle, so fancied a forehead band- but having not tried one on yet I'm not sure if I'll look like an idiot in one!!!! I am going to a couple of wedding fairs over the next couple of weeks so I'm going to try one or two on there and see how much of an idiot I look!

It is good to know that you left yours on!
