question re place cards

Fleur10, 17 February, 2011 at 19:19 Posted on Planning 0 9

Hi, we are looking into getting the place cards for our meal and wondered how you put the guests names on them, did you write them yourselves? We dont know anyone who could write them for us so were wondering if there was any you could buy online to print yourselves?

Hiya, we are only having them for the top table. all the others we re putting certain ppl on certain tables but letting them sit where they want.

to do the addresses on the invite envelopes, i bought an italic pen (couple of pound fron any stationary shop) and practiced a bit. im going to use the same for the few place cards im doing.

I am making a luggage style label on the computer threading through ribbon and putting it onto the favour for place names.

I was going to get a parker pen and write them myself in my best writing, by h2b has a colleague who does calligraphy so we'll get her to do them. I just prefer handwritten.

I think printed can look just as nice and loads of placecard sellers will do this for you and I don't think it's too expensive. I have seen places on ebay that doe them for £3 for 10.

My stationary lady says she can personalise mine by printing names onto clear avery lables then putting these over the top of my chosen placecards.

Ive not ordered them yet, as waiting for final nos, but it does seem like a cost effective way and saves my messy writing all over them!

Ive done exactly the same. Ive bought luggage labels and stuffed it through the printer, same with all my stationary! That way you can have any font you like (I download a free one from https://www.1001freefonts.com/ )

I'm hoping to use lowercase typewriter font stamps to do all mine -

I usually print them for people as a nice font looks much better than handwriting, unless you know someone with copperplate writing! My printer takes heavy card (worth checking the spec as you don't want to jam it up!). Don't know anywhere you can by them online, but if you'd like them done for you give me a shout - they can be done as close as a week to the day and then send via recorded delivery.

I have used Vistaprint Business cards, backed them, blinged them and got my friend to write the names on. Job done.

I originally ordered my place cards from vista print but when i started to write on them i thought it didnt look very nice, so ive just ordered some printable place cards (132 place cards) for £5.25 plus p&p from amazon, this way i can print everyones names onto them in a fancy font and they will look much more professional
