Questions for my Venue?

Rod, 6 July, 2011 at 15:34 Posted on Planning 0 9

Hi all,

I have a meeting with my reception venue on sunday (eeek!) to go through final details like where we want tables etc...can anyone think of any questions to ask them? So far i have -

Charge for Cake Stand and Knife?

Can we arrange toast drinks

Can we have the buffet come out in 2 sittings?

Tables - how many round / square we need

when do we need to pikc up stuff the next day

who clears up

where can the photobooth go?

confirm the DJ will have lights and mic?

Anything else?

The things we've agreed on at the last moment:

    * Who cuts the cake up for serving?

    * Do they have a table plan holder?

    * What time does the venue clear out, and how strick are they on this (mine lock the gate at 12:30)

    * Can people leave cars overnight?

    * Can we leave money behind the bar for the bride and grooms use for drinks during the night?

    * Do they have table number holders?

    * Do they have a pedestall stand we can use?

    * Will all table provided be covered in the linen (also provided by venue)

    * Is there anywhere to put our bathroom baskets?

    * Is there a cash machine onsite / cigarette machine (we are in the middle of no-where)

    * Bar prices (we put them onto our wedding website as we have a pay bar)

    * What time our suppliers can come and set up in the venue

    * What time we can come and set up in the venue

    * Is there any other service you've not discussed that we can get a real discount on (eg: we had a bouncy castle for £40).

There really was quite a list.

One thing we forgot to ask until a couple of days before was what time guests would be allowed into their rooms. The wedding was at 3pm and we were a bit suprised to find that they couldn't get into their rooms till 1.00pm. As a lot of people were travelling and wanted to eat and have baths/showers and get ready for the wedding in their rooms beforehand,we thought that was a bit too tight. They agreed to alter this to 12 noon which was much better.

What a well timed topic. We're meeting the venue and photographer this month.

Have you thought about any power supply that you may need? We need at least two sockets to be able to do our photo guestbook. I also need to know if they have an amplifier for my pianist to plug his microphone into. we need to see the rooma gain to see where the piano is going to go and to place the tables around this.
