Oh no, that's so awful, am really sorry.

I think important things to ask are:

    Do you have insurance?

Who will replace you on the day if you're ill?

Do you visit the venue with us before the wedding to plan shots / how well do you know the venue?

Could i have the number of brides you have photographed to get a reference?

Can I buy a disc and have the license to reprint pics myself?

Do your costs include vat and expenses?

Is there a limit to the pics you will take?

How many hours are included and what are the fees - if any - if you run over slightly?

Are you happy to do a mix of reportage and formal shots and are you happy to do a mix of black and white?

Do you do optimising in pics (think that's what it's called...when they can repair red eyes, etc!)

How many photographers will be present on the day?

Good luck, i hope you find someone - what area are you in? I've just booked a really good one in east mids who came recommended if that's any help?! Know most of them are prepared to travel.

    Hope you get sorted x

If you go for the CD option with your photographer, do check what filesize of each image you will be getting. We have had cases on here where the couple have got a disk, only to discover that the images are only of a quality for a 6X4 print.

regarding who you originally booked with......how do you feel about the situation?

Sorry to hear about that Carrie, that sucks and I can imagine shakes your trust up a little bit too.

All of those questions are good,, but to be honest, the red eye question is probably not helpful, because being a professional, we should not have red eye issues anyway. Most will do minor touching up for the images going into an album,, but if you are going just with disc, you might want to check with them about any touching up. Most provide the images as colour corrected, contrasted, horizons fixed, cropped, and some black and whites. But there is not general way of doing that, everyone is different.

Best of luck with the hunt.

    Teri

I am not 2 pleased about it im just glad i have found out not rather than them on the news who have had there day and no memories on photos i would be gutted if that happened and wot makes it worse is my bridal shop warned me about him so i rang just a couple of months ago and he reashured me everything was fine so i just keep thinking lucky me for it to have happened now rather than later

Hi Carrie - is it the couple that have been on the news lately? apparently a local photography studio paid for them t have another wedding .... not the best option but at least they'll have some good photos now!

I haven't got many suggestions as our tog is a brother of a friend and we've seen his work before so know what he can do, but best of luck on your search!
