Firstly a big thank you for those who kept me sane before Christmas, it was vvvv much appreciated and I couldnt have coped not being able to moan on here
H has been back home since, and back at work - fortunately he's still symptonless, so despite the gravitas of the surgery it's not currently affecting his daily life - he's still working all hours and can still cycle and drink without problems.
He saw a consultant today - the general concesus is they can repair the mitral valve (the recently problematic valve), and they v tentatively mentioned today his aortic valve maybe repairable rather than replaceable - if this is (not hoping here since it seemed a throwaway comment) the case then it will hopefully mean that he won't need surgery every 15ish years.
However, they are now worried (still unsure why this hasnt come up before) that due to the existing narrowing in his aorta (the original problem he had) that they havent completely widened, than any "debris" post surgery (I assime they mean things like clots moving) may get lodged here and obv lead to further problems. So in addition to needing one consultant surgeon for each valve, they now need a surgeon from the hospitals medical team to undertake an angiogram at the same time. So we have no update on timescales, only that 3 consultants diaries now have to agree...so the waiting continues. ☹️
