We has exactly the same problem! In the end we sent to all but changed the wording for the evening guests "X and X have set the date, please keep this evening free to celebrate with us"

I think this was clear enough to eveyone and didn't offend anyone!

I'm just sending save the dates to the day guests

The evening guests will get an invite nearer the date.

We're sending to those who are invited to the whole thing (we're doing ours over Friday and Saturday) and those who would have to stay overnight to come to the evening do

We sent our save the dates to day guests only, but tbh the invitations were sent out soon after for all. Id do what the other post said and send save the dates to your evening people with diff wording if your worried x

We also sent out save the date to the day guest and save the evening to the evening guests. it avoids a lot of confusion than if you sent the same to everyone and this way everyone feels included. Although, we sent ours out just for a bit of fun and to inform people, we don't really have the problem of people needing a lot of notice to book time off or make travel arrangements.

We're sending to day guests only. Also, if you don't send evening save the dates to your evening guests, you can easily bump them up to the day list if necessary without causing confusion or hurting any feelings Smiley smile

My suggestion is to all day and overseas guests. One would hope that overseas guests are day guests, but in our case we have quite a few overseas evening guests as well, but as they're used to weddings starting at 6 or 7 pm anyways, being invited for 7 shouldn't be too much of a problem for them Smiley smile
