Quidco question

Ostrich, 8 June, 2008 at 22:46 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 5

I've joined Quidco and on the first page it tells me about Betfair - make a £10 bet and get £30 cashback. I've clicked through to the Betfair website and registered and it's welcomed me. Now it's asking me to put funds into my Betfair account. There's been no mention so far of the £30 cashback - is that right? Do I read nothing about it or does nothing happen until I've placed a bet? I feel a con coming on....

You never see any mention. Some time after the completed transaction, you can log onto Quidco and you will see it has tracked. If it hasn't within a certain period you can raise a query and they should find it for you. You can see how long it takes to track on average on the betfair Quidco page. I've had hundreds of pounds cashback thru Quidco. it's certainly not a scam.

Be warned with Betfair though, the cashback takes aggggggges. I placed a bet on the Grand National with them (April) and the cashback has only just been verified.

    Ah, ok. Thanks ladies.

Can I ask another (probably stupid) question? I've gone on confused.com to check out quotes for my car insurance renewal. One company is offering me fully comp at £280. However, I've looked on Quidco and the particular company offer £35 cashback via Quidco. However, on going through the Quidco site (still with me?) I find the quote has shot up to £360 odd quid. How does that work then? Should I be phoning the car insurance company or Quidco, or neither?!

If you phone the inusrer, you won't get the cashback. Phoning Quidco won't help either. It's either that you've entered slightly different details or that it's just offering you a different price. I've been offered slightly differing prices before because they ask slightly differing questions I think, but only a few quid here or there. I'd have a look at the list of insurers on Quidco and see if any of the bigger payers are offering a competitive deal on confused.com and try again with them.

Note your ref no from the cheaper quote and then go to that company via quidco and enter the ref no and this should pull up the cheaper quote. Hopefully you should get the cashback too.

I got varying quotes with the same insurer through different comparisons sites, strange!

ps I just got over £100 back through quidco there, it does add up but don't depend on it as a definate cashback, not all queries are honoured.

I should have had £50 cashback through Yes Car Insurance but for some reason they've declined it.

As far as Betfair goes it won't mention it on the site. It'll show up, as the others have said, in your quidco account at some point.
