Quirky, rustic wedding on a budget!

Lalamanda, 1 September, 2016 at 13:52 Posted on Planning 0 3

Hi everyone! My fiance and I have been engaged since May and have really started to plan for the big day next October! We are looking for a super quirky, rustic and preferably outdoor style wedding.

If we could have it our way, we'd just go out into the woods and make the space ours for a lovely, intimate ceremony. We'd love to be able to just 'rent' a space and hire a celebrant to perform a ceremony.

Does anyone have any ideas or tips to look for something like this? We are located in Bolton so anything in the North West would be perfect Smiley smile

Thank you in advance!

P.S our budget for the venue would be less than £2000 if possible!

    Hi Lalamanda,

Have you looked around Rivington? I'm not sure if you can actually get married in the woods there but I believe there is a barn type venue for hire which is available for hire so you may be able to get pictures in the woods Smiley smile Not sure if you could get up there in your dress but I always thought the old terraced gardens going up Rivington Pike would make a great place for pictures! x

What about speaking to the national trust. They may have an outdoor woodsy or ruinsy space you could use. It might mean you runnng off to the registry office the day before to do the legal bit but make you outdoor ceremony your wedding.

You could try local schools (ideally ones set in grounds with woodland space) or indeed sports grounds (cricket or golf grounds etc) which may have woodland space.

The previously mentioned National Trust idea is a good one.

Also, trying to think outside the box, what about local Scout groups who may have access to woodland (given all the campfire outings they do).

    Good luck!

I'd have said the wellbeing farm. Would be over budget but you get a lot included so might make it work if looking at overall costs.
