Ok funny med question for you

i have an eye infection, left eye. if i put my little finger in my right ear and apply a little pressure, why does it feel like its pushing on my left eye tear duct? ??

Obviously not Rache - just nosey

But have you tried it the other way round, in case it's just you being odd and not related to the infection......

    Haven't a clue.

Actually, I have. If you push on your ear blocking your external auditory meatus (ear'ole) then that will increase pressure on the eardrum, thereby increasing pressure in the eustachian tube which connects the middle ear to the nasopharynx (back of the nose and throat). The lacrimal (tear) ducts are also in communication with the nasopharynx so theoretically you might get the sensation of pushing or increased pressure in both tear ducts, but particularly in a tear duct that is blocked or swollen with infection.

    Maybe. Or maybe not.
