No, not Vernon Kay ? I really, really detest those 4 little notes they stick onto every song in the morning. Who do I complain to? ?

Yes, yes, The Killers are clearly shit...........fark me, even I've got better taste in music than you, and that's saying something!

Oh, I'm glad you're up for pissing people off today, 'cause so am I...

MA - Don't think I missed that, dude!

I'm starting to get rather tired of all the fattist abuse levelled at Moyles. He might not appeal to everyone but I really don't see what his appearance has to do with him on the radio (even more so as it's not a visual medium).

    Cracking thread ?

I can't remember the last time I listened to R1 - maybe my timing was wrong but it always seemed full of garage and house. If it was wall to wall listening of the Killers I'd be thrilled. ?

I tend to listen to Virgin if I want music on but most of the time it's R4 on here. That probably makes me an almost 34-year-old who wants to be an OAP, by Mizz Pink's logic. ?

WBGBS. Moyles obviously doesn't give a sh!t about his weight, why should anybody else? I just don't like his presenting style (is he really still using that 'Saviour of Radio One' line?') so I don't listen.

Whilst I do agree with you to a point Baron, I can't help but think that Moyles is more than happy to dish out derogatory comments about others appearance, kind of makes him an easy target?

Radio one is definitely not for me. Far too much waffle and music I've never heard of. But then, its no secret that I'm an old fogey. I'd much rather listen to Ed Doolan on BBC WM ? Now, where's my slanket and lap tray? ?

Pink is great but The Killers are crap. That's hilarious. Mizz Pink is quite obviously a music conoisseur and we should all listen to what she has to say. Clearly, there's no good "new" music around these days. I'm still sniggering.

(Is it wrong to admit that at 36 I like to sing along to the show tune on Sarah Kennedy's breakfast show whilst having my shower? I should probably not have admitted that.)

I prefer fivelive and talksport , radio 4 and classic gold. and when im feeling a bit gangsta' i'll do galaxy kiss or check out the unsigned artists on Myspace. My taste is frikkin weird at the moment.

Blasphemer....how can you say that about the lovely Ricky & the lovely Brandon. R1 is about the only place you still get to hear them.

If only smash hits were around, then you might be able to open your ears and eyes and educate yourself in music appreciation....you seem very tunnel visioned!

? at some of the posts on here. Mmmm Exclamation!

Anyhoo, Radio 1 isn't my cuppa, find Moyles and co deeply annoying. I used to listen to Mills on the way home, but haven't for a while. I've just started listening to R2 on my fab shower radio. Although at the mo it always seems to be the big band/jazz programs on when i'm showering. ?

    Gonna give 6music a go.

BTW - speaking of trying to recapture lost youth - listening to Best of Blur at the mo.. I had such dull teenage years that i never really knew about them first time around. I was too busy listening to tracks from Phantom of the Opera! ?[pmsl]

Mrs W - don't mind you singing along to the show tune (I do too if it's one I recognise) but I can't stand SK. She drives me mad but she's a better option than anything else because she saves me looking at the papers in the morning!

I've just been looking through som online patterns and came across some legwarmers. I think I'll knit some and wear them while clinging onto the good old days.

I'm not much a fan of R1 but each to their own and all that. [charlie sprayed jazz hands] I mainly listen to City Talk (Liverpool talk station) at home and then R2 when I'm in the car or the harpies and mailites are on City Talk.

I like current music, I don't like adverts. Therefore I listen to Radio One. I don't like R2 because there is so much old music played, and Steve Wright in the afternoon? Well, he was popular when I was a teenager, and I'm not trying to recapture my dim and distant youth, after all.

I do miss Mark and Lard though.

As for The Killers and Kaiser Chiefs sounding the same, perhaps you just don't have much of an ear for music?

Remember, leg warmers should only be worn on the ARMS.

unsigned artists on myspace - there's a bloke called Al Medley - I used to go to school with him, and I cannot believe he can actualyl sound like that - amazing.

I hate Radio 1. I am a TOG, but then after that, it's all crap till Radcliffe & Maconie. Steve Wright & his bum lickers make my bum wink. <sigh> I listen to the radio less & less, and despite having HATED "talky" radio for years, quite like Simon Mayo/Mark Kermode sparring over movie reviews of a Friday afternoon.

Why would you need to get comfortable?

So, is it liking current music that means people are trying to recapture their glory days? Or are other stations that play mainly modern music ok?

Just read the rest of this. Hilarious. I am a sad 34 year old that actually goes to Killers, Arctic Monkeys, Kaiser Chiefs, Maximo Park, Spice Girls, Take That etc etc etc gigs. I wouldn't mind being 18 again too.

I don't really think anyone cares about your taste in music just that you thought it was ok to be rude about people with different tastes to you.

Oh for God's sake how can what I say be rude when every day there are people on here being rude and obnoxious and throwing insults at each other. Everyone else is entitled to their opinion and its always taken in the right way and no-one gets offended. Also no-one said anything to Nick when he said radio 1 dj's are all a bunch of wan*ers.

I thought the majority of posters on OT had a sense of humour as a lot of posts really make me laugh.

I make 1 opinion about radio 1 and everyone loses their sense of humour whilst jumping on the pc wagon.

Have you gone quite mad? In what way are people being pc? I think perhaps you don't know what pc means?

Also, there is a difference between insulting the djs on R1 and insulting the people who listen to R1. It's not really the same.

Erm, let me find the right end of that stick for you. You were rude about people that listen to Radio 1 calling them all sad, that's why people got annoyed. Clearer now?

I wasn't going to be as blunt as Holio, but boy are you thick. Let me spell it out to you.

No-one is insulted when comments are made about a random group of people (e.g. radio 1 Djs) in the context of this thread. People are insulted when many of the people posting on this thread profess to like radio 1 and you dismiss them as losers (or whatever stunningly witty insult you came up with). DO YOU UNDERSTAND? Probably not.

Well I like Coldplay and James Blunt and whatsherfacewithallthecurls who sings about bicycles in Bejing and Norah Jones and Bryan Ferry (phwar) and erm .. well, all sorts depending on my mood.

What I do hate with a passion are the radio stations over here. They are crap. Give me Capital 95.8 any day. With Chris Tarrant and Kara Noble. Those were the days!

No I understand BGB ; people on here can insult/critize/put down/slag off absoloutly anyone IRL, but be horrible about posters on OT...............hanging offence.

Oh can someone spell out to me why I am supposed to give a toss?

Now I know what hardly any people come on here from BT !

Despite what you may think, we really don't go around insulting huge swathes of the Hitched community for no reason whatsoever. I think you have maybe misunderstood the tone of the board. Oh, and there are plenty of OTers that are also BTers, we manage to make the crossover quite successfully without making complete tits of ourselves.

And now I am laughing because I can't believe, despite it being pointed out several times, that you don't get the difference between saying you hate Radio 1 DJs and slagging off the people that listen to R1 and calling us sad losers. I love it ?
