Random but answer needed - cereal and Spain!

em-ster, 26 April, 2009 at 08:34 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 7

Ok, bear with me on this one but can I take a box of Crunchy Nut Cornflakes in my hand luggage to Lanzagrote...........?

My insides just go haywire without it or something similar a the mo and I'm loathe to pay 5 euros for a box when I'm there!

Speedy answers gratefully received as I need to pack pronto

Thanks!

Can't give you a definate answer but on recent flight to Spain I have seen loads of people unpacking own sandwiches and stuff on the flight, which have obviously been bought from home and taken through security. I always thought you couldn't take any food. Probabaly worth doing and see what happens.

Are you taking any hold luggage? If so I would put it in there. Have a good break!

Just looked on the Manchester airport website https://www.manchester-airport-guide.co.uk/security.html

and it does not say anything about food bein prohibited as long as it isn't liquid.

I don't know I'm afraid, but I'm loving the ol' Freudian slip on the spelling ?

You can take it in your suitcase. We took weatabix for our daughter and we never had any problems.

My MIL took 2 turkeys, 2 packs of smoked salmon and 60 pigs in blankets to Switzerland at Christmas. You'll be fine with a packet of cereal.

The turkeys were probably illegal ?

You aren't supposed to take more than 3.5kg of poultry into Switzerland

But between 5 of us it was ok, sadly. I did try and use that argument to make her leave the turkeys at home!
