Random Question

jen-lou, 24 September, 2014 at 16:12 Posted on Planning 0 5

I know some people love the idea and others hate it, but ive been persuaded by my MOH to surprise my OH with a dance on the wedding, we are going to learn "all the single ladies" (odd choice I know, but if you know us it's not ?, it's like an in-joke in our circle of friends).

So my random question, as I know I can get a few more people on board, how many people would be too many to get involved?

(and wish my luck when we start learning this as I have as much rhythm as a cardboard box! ha!)

In my experience I would say that there's no arbitrary number to put on it because it depends on your crowd but definitely pick those who don't mind turning up to the lesson(s) / rehearsal and can be relied upon because the main thing that stresses people out when doing things like this is not people who have trouble dancing (your instructor will allow for that and make sure everyone is comfortable) but the people who drop out at the last minute or spend the whole lesson complaining etc. If you think anyone is really, really reluctant then let them bow out with plenty of notice. It will make it much more fun for you - and for them, because sad as it is for me to say, some people really don't like organised dance routines!

Also bear in mind who can keep a secret and also be careful that you don't have more people in the routine than are in the crowd!

    Hi Jen-Lou,

Dances like this can be a really fun moment at your wedding reception. The ones we've seen have always gone well.

Not lots and lots, but everything from a fully choreographed first dance to a 100 strong flash-mob!!

    Good luck!

Thanks guys, you've made me feel like I'm not going to make a total fool of myself.

    Bruce, love the photos ?

You've made some good points think I'll get a smaller group and see how we get on and see who's up for it, but from looking at the photos, I think any less than 3 people will just look odd. Ok now to arrange an email/text to see who's up for it.

Will let you know how I get on!

That's so cool. I tried to convince my Oh to learn a inbetweeners style dance with his best men for the reception but he was having non of it.
