Rant 2...top this for pants family...

cotteesgirl, 18 September, 2009 at 18:50 Posted on Planning 0 19

Sorry feel its been all about me the past 2 days...about to go out but i am free all tomorrow night so will be on here longer catching up on past posts oh and to read my luck thread!

Just had to share this...went to mums today, we ordered the venue food y.day and i had told her what we are having, so she said she had told my sister what we were having(this sister is the one i didnt want to invite but did for the sake of family and harmony & the only people who know that are my mum and my OH) and my sister said that her, her husband and her son wont eat that, they will only eat hamburger and chips!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so we either change it or they wont be able to come!!!!!!!!!! hahahahahehehehoooo WTF!!!

so we explained with 2 days to go no way would we be able to change it, and its effing rude...so mum got on the phone and i heard my sister saying 'it was our fault for not sorting out what they wanted this late in the day & they wont be coming!'.........the first thing i said to OH is right i will be posting that on hitched tonight lol......so anyway long story short, i am free three guests on sunday, if anyone essex hitchers fancy stepping in feel free to come!!

Maybe its karma! it just goes to prove my point of that she is a pathetic, selfish, spoilt, attention seeking, sulky 37 year old...hence the reason i didnt really want her to come! x

That is outrageous behaviour by your sister, dont let it upset you.

Just keep in mind that you have been the bigger person by inviting them, it will be their loss not yours.

Have an amazing day, am sure you will love every minute!

Oh my God, that is just awful!

If she doesn't like the food don't eat it! She doesn't have to pull out of the entire thing. Ugh, so sorry you're having to go through this 2 days before your wedding!

PS. What wedding has she been to where she had hamburger and chips? I mean, I'm not judging anyone who has hamburger and chips at their wedding but I would imagine that they are few and far between!

What a cow! (sorry, I know she's your sister, but still!!). Completely unreasonable. Just put it out of your mind!

Am an essex girl at heart, if I was down that way this weekend I'd be there in a flash, but alas am in Manchester. Sure you'll be devastated ?

Well she has no friends, just lives in her little bubble with her husband and child so i doubt they get invited to any other weddings lol....i went to an indian wedding a while ago and i dont eat indian food but still went, its just etiquette which she clearly doesnt have. Im so cool with her not coming, i feel sorry for my mum as she lost my dad and is now on her total own at the wedding, apart from my uncle, you would have thought she would have put her own pathetic selfishness behind her for the sake of my mum if no-one else!!!! but it shows she couldnt care less about anyone....and she made my dads life hell in his last 6 months, which is one of the reasons i dont have much time for her....its just wrong so wrong...thanks for your replies girls x

Aaaw hun you never seem to catch a break eh? Tell them to either a) not come or b) visit McDonalds before coming. How ridiculous are they??? Your sister sounds like my OH's brother. Completely unreasonable and selfish. Shall we arrange for them all to be on a one way ferry to antarctica? That would solve all our problems. Ah - that sounds mean - I'd put a few Big Macs (other burgers are available) on there to keep them schtum.

Screw 'em. Your day - if they are going to be petty they are best not to be there! I'd upgrade some evening guests! My mate did that after she was let down by heaps of people. xx

I'm sorry, have I just read that right?? Are you saying that she's saying because you won't serve her the food she wants then she won't be coming?

Right, give me her address, I'm going round to give her a good hard slap and tell her she wasn't wanted at your beautiful celebration anyway.

That's totally unreasonable behaviour and tbh I've never been to a wedding where I knew what I was going to have to eat before I got there! Also I know she's your sister but who only eats hamberger and chips????

Sadly I am not in Essex and have plans for tomorrow or I would have bitten your hand off. Just to be clear that is to accept the invite, I don't actually eat hands ?...

Thanks all...only I could have such a twit for a family...update she is still not coming (thank god) but she has apologised (through my mother) and wishes me well (yep you can feek right off love)...and my mum is saying its not my sisters fault, it is her husband that is the problem, and that i mustnt tell anyone...i love my mums pride & rose tinted glasses about my sister...news for mum ive told everyone and had a right laugh about it.

The weirdest thing is the main course is sirloin steak.....um ive never studied butchery but is a steak not the same part of the same animal as a beefburger, which really is kind of the same as a hamburger ...or am i being totally unreasonable ?

once again thanks for sharing my wedding dramas with me girls x

You sister sounds like a real spoilt brat...sorry!, or could it be you thats spoilt and wants YOUR WEDDING DAY YOUR WAY!!!! (is that not the whole point of itn being your wedding day!?? )

Can't believe she wanted you to have burger and chips!!!, does she not realise that if that was what you wanted as you main meal you would of organised a BBQ? ?

Guess she has done you a favour by deciding not to go so that's a good thing ?

I wish you and your h2b all the best for tomorrow...if I was in your area I would certainly be there wishing you both the happiest day ever ?

You should get some other guests in quickly before she decides tomorrow morning she is coming now!!

Put her out of your mind, breathe a sigh of relief and have the most perfect day without always looking over your shoulder to see what drama she is causing now

I can't believe your sister would do this to you so close to your wedding!!!!

If people are that damn fussy then thats their issue and they should keep it to themselves. Its certainly not a reason to abandon a family members wedding. I'm quite annoyed by what they've said - can't imagine how you feel.

Hope you can manage to not let it ruin your day.

Sounds like you've got the right attitude CG! Glad you're not letting it get you down too much. You'll have a much better day without her bitter mug spoiling all your photos.

    Have a great wedding day.

OMG what planet is she on! and as someone else said did she have burgers and chips at her wedding!?

It doesn't sound like her behaviour is a complete surprise to you as she already seems to have shown her true colours in other situations. Why don't you send her the invoice for the 3 dinners you have to pay for even though they aren't coming as not liking the food is not a good enough reason to do a no show! Sorry but what a selfish b**ch!

    Enjoy your day anyway.
