Reading over other people's shoulders

Hmmm, I would say I'm a little bit like this too, although hate it when people do it to me! If I catch onto something then I am soooo curious and inquisitive I find it really difficult to leave something alone. It is terrible really! I'm sure I drive Mr McFarley nuts, lol x

I don't. And I have a friend who comes into my house and will open documents that I leave around the house. One example being I was working out how much I owe suppliers and had my caricature artist form out one night. Next day she comes in and just stands there opening it up and reading it thinking I couldn't see her doing it. Winds me up so much so I would never do it to others. Might be too different a scenario to what you mean though.

I don't do this as I hate when people do it to me if i'm using my phone etc. I am nosey in other ways and love to listen in to conversations and arguments though ?

I wouldn't go that far Hoddy! But I am pretty bad, and I know I shouldn't do it. I'm such a hypocrite though because I'd be really annoyed if someone was doing it to me. Though I judge people by my own standards and I keep my screen angled away from people when I remember. I try to distract myself to stop myself from doing it but it's so tempting when I can easily see it, especially if it's interesting.

Actually this reminds me of a time when a guy leaned over my shoulder on the tube and told me how to finish my sudoko - the cheek!

I don't do it and hate other people doing it,

I have actually been tutted at a few times on the tube where someone has been reading my paper over my shoulder and I have turned the page evidently before they had finished reading. ?

I sometimes glance over to see what people are reading but don't stop to read it in detail, because I hate people doing it to me. H sometimes does it when I'm on the computer and it really annoys me because I read much faster than him and he then makes me wait!

Yep. And she knows she shouldn't do it because I stood behind her watching her do it and when she turned around it made her jump when she saw me there! It was actually meant to be a surprise for our guests as well!!

A girl was opposite me on the train once constantly texting and looking upset, then she happened to be in front of me at the queue for tube tickets and was still texting- I sneaked a peak and it was pretty obvious it was a break up I felt awful... although it hasn't stopped me.

When I used to check tickets I would hover and comment on articles people were reading- I often got the '*** off now' death stare!

I think there is a difference between blatantly reading over someones shoulder, not just to sneak a look but to actually read their paper, book etc (which I dont do and find very annoying when people do it to me) and sneaking a look at what someone is reading/texting or listening in on a conversation (which I do sometimes do)

Like others have said if it is something juicy and you can blatantly see or hear it I think it is human nature to sneak a look or listen, but maybe I'm just nosy !

I was on the train once and could see between the seats that the guy in front of me had Grindr open on his phone. He started sending messages and I was bored so I was being nosey.

That backfired once he loaded up an image that he'd received of the other guy's pork sword! It was far too early to be seeing that.

The other day a guy was texting at least 3 different women the same messages, lots of 'select all' 'copy' 'paste' going on! Best one was the woman who got a picture sent to her and when she opened it, it was a willy!! I nearly burst out laughing as she giggled, clearly a bit shocked and looked round to check noone saw!

It's my new favourite - that and 'happy stick' from the strip club thread - it's amazing what hitched has taught me ?

Rod - they're the ones I love - when they're a bit juicy but I have to stop myself from asking what's going on.
