really stuck with colour scheme!! *FLASH*

littleprincess30, 1 June, 2011 at 12:20 Posted on Planning 0 12

Im flashing my dress and a pic of the bridesmaid dress, my bridesmaid was not wearing the dress hence why its held funny! she had a different one on, and I saw this colour but it was a customers bridesmaids dress so she couldnt put it on!

my question is...we are having a vintage/shabby chic theme, and i was originally going with dusky pink/rose pink but having seen this green (which they describe as moss) i thought it went really well, but ive been looking at pictures and im now doubting myself so opinions would be great!

please excuse the bruise on my arm....my horse was hungry! :-)

That green would go beautifully with dusky pink!

It doesn't look dark enough for me to be a moss green (but maybe thats my eyes), but I think it would fit really well with it, perhaps that and the pink together would work?

Theme will be.....bird cages in cream, candles, antique frames on tables thats for the daytime flowers will be antique roses, then the evening will be more shabby chic, as we are having a outdoor BBQ in the gardens, so lots of hanging lanterns, bunting, candles, shabby chic signs hanging from the trees and wire hearts. i dont want the bridesmaids to look too modern, but then i dont really want lacey (which i know goes against the vintage look!!)

Were having nearly the same colour - celadon, with hints of yellow. Yellow shoes for me, and sunflowers, yellow wellies and a massive sunflower umberella (getting married in the lakes so want to be prepared in case it rains!). The pink goes really nicely with it

I'd call that sage green rather than moss. I'm sure some of the HIBs on here will soon be able to show you a load of images mixing sage and dusky pink as they definitely go really well together - I'm sure I've seen that as someone else's colour scheme already?

It looks gorgeous, and the colours also go well with Lilac & Purples. One of my brides had a similar colour it was called seafoam, here are a few of her pics:

I agree that the colour of those bridesmaid dresses would go beautifully with dusky pink. My friends sister had the same two colours at her wedding last year and the pics looked fab.

I had vintage/shabby chic theme and wanted either dusky pink or that shade of green, went with the pink in the end but both colours work really well in that theme

I think the colour of that dress is lovely and as others have said will go perfectly with dusky pink so worry not. I had a shabby chic/ tea party theme and my BMs wore a raspberry pink grecian style dress and they fit in fine as there were so many pinks all over the place. Try to include greenery in your flwer arrangements to tie the dresses in a bit more if you are worried.
