Receiving cards?

waggamama, 18 March, 2012 at 22:15 Posted on Planning 0 4

Hi all.

I have a bit of a paranoid question. For gifts for our wedding we're asking for a card instead of a gift as we're emigrating in 2013. I would like a card box/ post box, etc., but my mum mentioned someone might walk off with it, like the hotel staff! Could I just give them to my mammy and ask her to keep them in her handbag or possibly padlock a box closed (though that seems a bit hard for the guests!). Would love suggestions on other ways to receive cards!

If your not asking for presents and doing cards I would have a post box as we went to a wedding recently and there was no where to put it some ended up holding it for most of the night (not fun). Perhaps put someone in charge like the best man, bridesmaid, parents etc.... Or place it in a corner?

    Hiya

Where are you based? I hire Royal Mail Post Boxes for this very reason and I also have a wishing well. Very difficult to walk off with making it a lot more secure.

Thanks everyone, I might use a birdcage after all as I could padlock that and we're staying at their b'n'b so could empty it in there regularly if need be!

Nat, thanks so much for the idea of a post box, it's gorgeous and you're right, no one can bugger off with it! I had a look at your website and unfortunately I'm a fair while away from you, I'm in Norwich! I'm hunting for one nearer to me now!
