Reception for 70 North Yorkshire

We're hoping to get married with a smallish number (max 70) on one day and then have a massive party on a separate date. I don't really want a traditional venue/wedding breakfast for the smaller day do, instead a really intimate venue and then like a country pub where we can hire a room for 70 and be catered for, preferably in North Yorkshire. Does anyone have any suggestions please? If needs be I can reduce the wedding numbers (ruthless I know! ?) thanks

Hi,

I went to a wedding at the Charles Bathurst Inn, near Richmond. It was a little in the middle of nowhere but it has some accommodation and there were a few B&Bs a taxi ride away. The wedding I went to had their ceremony and reception there. It was lovely, beautiful views and the venue has an intimate and informal feeling whilst still feeling looked after as a guest. Their website says they can cater for up to 70 people.

I'm not sure whereabouts in North Yorkshire you are thinking, but have you tried the Stone Trough Inn near Malton? I'm pretty sure they do weddings & its right next to Kirkham Abbey so I'm sure you'd get some lovely photos there also!

I photographed a wedding at a lovely pub at Goldsborough. They have a nice marquee and garden.
