Recommend me a pressed powder please!

Clohugs, 25 August, 2008 at 14:39 Posted on Planning 0 7

I have combination skin and get shine so want a powder/oil absorbing sheets to use on my wedding day as the powder I use at the moment goes a bit cakey... I am realtively pale...

Does anyone have any recs? My MUA recommended Chanel but it's pretty pricey but if it's worth it I'd maybe get either the powder/sheets.

TIA

I use a Tesco brand - I think it's Barbara Daley or something...?!

I use the collections 2000 light diffusing one, really like it as it's really light

Ooh - collection 2000 - much cheapness! It's a Rimmel one I've got just now but I just find it too heavy on top of foundation.

Both my foundation and powder are virgin vie and fab. they are very light and never look overdone. ivory i get but they also do soft beige which also fairly pale. reasonably priced and lasts for ages.

i must admit i don't use foundation and powder together becasue my foundation is one of those compact ones that goes on like powder anyway so doesn't really need powder as well. is that an option?

i can also recommend superdrug's shine control paper- not sure the name of it sorry- cheap and cheerful but does the job well. been using it loads on my hols to get rid of the sun cream shine!

Max Factor Miracle Touch for me! I even went out and brought another one as soon as mine ran out which is very unlike me as I usually just try another brand when I finish one but this one is really really good!

Thanks peeps. I think I'll pop into town on Sat & check these out.

Sparklyblue - I quite like my foundation as it does give good coverage, but I just get wee shiny bits towards the end of the day & I don't want a shiny forehead in my wedding pics!! My MUA will prob be able to combat most of the shine with primers and what not so it's just to be on the safe side really!

Another recommendation for Virgin Vie's Finishing Powder from me too. They also do a colour correcting loose powder, mattifying day cream and a lovely new liquid foundation that is replacing their perfect balance foundation.
