Recommend me you killer heels

Missus S, 4 March, 2012 at 22:32 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 31

With one stipulation, they have to be fairly comfy.

I am a New Look girl when it comes to heels. Higher and sexier the better. But after a couple of hours on a night out theyre always off. I cannot handle them anymore. I am desperate for some which wont leave my feet in pure agony. Someone today told me her Kurt Geiger shoes are comfy as you pay more. Is this true? If so recommend me some please ?

Your best bet is to try on lots of different brands until you find one that has a shape that fits your arches well.

I find KG shoes pretty uncomfortable but LK Bennett are perfect for me. Jimmy Choos, fabulous, Prada, awful on my feet. I find DPs the least comfortable of all so would never buy shoes from there. A pair of heels that fit you properly will feel like you're wearing almost nothing at all on your feet. Provided they fit you properly, it won't matter what you spend, that'll just be down to personal preference.

The most comfortable heels I have cost me £20 from TK Maxx ? They just fit like a second skin, so every bit of my foot arch is supported, there's not too much pressure on the ball of my foot and my feet don't slip and slide around inside them.

As a general rule, I can't wear heels without tights or some kind of foot covering on. Bare feet makes my tootsies sweat too much (charming!) and then they ache ten times more.

Here's a pic of my favourite comfy heels (they look much nicer IRL)

OOOOOOH they are pretty. It's been so long since I bought new shoes. Think I may need to indulge after pay day ;-)

I have the exact same problem with big shoes to the point that I'll only wear them now if I know we are going to be somewhere with a definate chance if a seat! I can't stand in them for the whole night. I do have a couple of pairs of carvela shoes which really are comfy. I'll try and find a couple of photos but they are also boot(ish) styled. They're not the cheapest, I paid full price for one pair as a real treat for me but the second pair I had seen on the debenhams website and loved them, they were £100 but one day I was on we're reduced to £39, I also had a 10% code and free delivery so really got them for a bargain at £35! Amazon often have them on sale too.

Dune shoes make my ankles ache! Just goes to show, Missus S, you need to find ones that fit you properly. If they're uncomfortable in the shop they're unlikely to get more comfortable!

I agree with Enterflora on Dune - but I've only tested their mid-heel's as I tent to wear them as everyday wear.

My favourite ever big heeled shoes are the ones I wore for ladies night, which you saw, stay on all night - however, I cannot remember where they are from!

I also have a pair from New Look, purchased a good couple of years ago which are padded inside and about 6inch sling backs with a platform, and a covered toe and a bow, but I agree with what you say, the new shoes in there appear to be a lot less comfy!

    You sound like me!!

I really don't think there are any high heels out there that I would find 'comfortable'.

I find platform shoes more comfortable as they reduce the angle of your foot. I have some ankle boots which are about 6 / 7" heel but because of the platform I can wear them for hours and they're still comfy.

I love Miss KG shoes though and would wear them no matter how uncomfortable they were!

    ?

Well yes, they are comfy. But wearing them bare foot makes my feet quite sweaty (no idea why, high quality plastic and all that) so unless I break the fashion laws and wear socks with them...

They're way too narrow for my fat feet!

I made the mistake of wearing some to work today and they're hurting already.

No I don't RR! What the heck do you take me for?!?! ?

Flow - Mini heels. And they're wedges. But still a huge improvement from my Uggs.

ETA I just measured, the heels are a whopping 6cm ?

Not a great picture, but these are my favourite night out heels. I was out a few weeks ago doing the running man in them! They are super comfy and were £7 from New Look (in a sale) I can wear them all night and i don't have sore feet when i take them off too! Smiley smile

I've had a few pairs of KG and whilst they are gorgeous to look at, I wouldn't say they are that much more comfortable to wear. I had some KG boots that I ended up giving to my SD because they were so uncomfortable I never got round to wearing them!

I also have some Carvela heels which are highly uncomfortable. Sorry I've not got any recommendations! I don't think it necessarily makes a difference how much you pay unless you are going proper high end but if you are anything like me, you'd struggle to part with £400 for one pair of shoes when you can get 16 pairs for the same price in New Look.

I wore KG shoes for my wedding and they stayed on all day - here they are -

I also have a few pairs from New Look - I too find the ones with some kind of support at the front, like a mary jane / shoe boot are more comfy because my foot doesnt slip out.

I have a pair of classic black patent courts from Aldo and theyre comfy and a gorge pair from Next too.

There are loads of places that do lovely heels, i think it depends on the style of shoe as well as the material etc as to how comfy they are.

My most comfortable heels are from Next - nude peeptoes.

My second most comfortable pair are wedges from New Look.

I also stock up on party feet - I find these help me a lot!

Next also do wide fit shoes.

This! Shoe boots or similar all the way. I wear them for work and I also have a brilliant pair for going out that have so many cut outs they look like more normal shoes but are as comfy as a shoe boot.

Most of my shoes are Nine West, Faith or Dune - and all apart from one pair are very comfortable, my wedding shoes were KG and they were also comfortable.

I tried those party feet shoe inserts and I think I must have done something wrong because my feet were still killing me after a couple of hours! It's always the balls of my feet that suffer the most :/
