Recommendations for restaurants by L Bridge/Tower Bridge tonight

baublegirl, 23 December, 2008 at 15:13 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 3

Am planning a last minute trip up to town to meet my H with the two kids tonight. We want to take the boys out to eat somewhere, but I'm not sure what's 'family friendly' (but not dire!) around there.

I know there's a Giraffe further down the S Bank near Waterloo, but don't know if there's anything similar up the L Bridge end. His offices are actually overlooking St Katherine's dock - maybe there's something there?

There doesn't need to be a kid's menu as such, just somewhere where we won't be actively discouraged from going in would be a start (children are 4 and 2, so can be unpredictable)!

Thanks

There's a Premier Inn on Tower Bridge Road (2-300m south from Tower Bridge) - they're pretty good for a stopover. I'd say it's about 10-15 mins walk to London Bridge from there.

There might be another one over Southwark way too - check their website.

Sorry, just read that and realised that you're after a restaurant, not a hotel. Man, I need a break!

Can't help you with family-friendly restaurants around there, sorry.

St Katharine's Dck itself has a couple of family friendly places in Strada and Ping Pong. We took 11 year old and very messy 10 month old in the Ping Pong there on Sunday and the staff were very nice and very tolerant of noodles and salmon all over the place...

Marvellous. H has already mentioned Strada, but as I'm coeliac it's not ideal. Ping Pong however would be fab. Thnks!
