Recommended me your pillows!

Creme Egg, 24 September, 2008 at 12:16 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 5

A bit bizarre, I know.....

But after many sleepless nights, we've decided to replace our bed pillows but it's proving to be a bit of a mind field. There are sooooooooo many different stuffings to choose from.

What stuffings best???

Where did you get your from???

Thanks in advance

We got mid-range duck feather (there might be down in there too) medum support jobbies from M&S with wedding vouchers that are fab for the money we paid.

Mr Pants likes a flat pillow so squishes his two down and I prefer more neck support so the feathers mean you can bolster them up a bit.

Covered in their Supima cotton pillowcases and its lovely.

I've found Dunelm Mill good in the best, but have no specifics.

We bought our microfibre ones from here - www.duvetandpillowwarehouse.co.uk, we also bought a feather matteress topper & new microfibre duvet...it feels like we have a whole new bed for a fraction of the cost...dreamy!

I've always suffered with neck/shoulder/back pains in the mornings until I got a memory foam pillow - I love it! I think its a Silentnight one, it's one of those oddly shaped contoured ones

We've got hollowfibre pillows from The Fine Bedding Company, i've got their spundown one and Mr Dooby has the breathe one (as he tends over heat at night). They're really good and come out all fluffy and revitalised after a trip around the washing machine every so often.

watching this post with avid interest as we always end up buying new pillows every 6 months and when I have tried to wash them they go weird. We usually get hollowfibre and hypoallergenic ones because of my asthma and have tried Debenhams, House of Fraser and M&S and they have all gone the way of the sister in law's dog basket (I mean the basket of my sister in law's dog - my sister in law does not sleep in a dog basket...just to clarify!)

I have feather/down ones which I love. H hates them (doesn't help his asthma) and has synthetic type ones.

I was in Ikea a couple of weeks ago and noticed that their pillows are rated by how you sleep - on your back, on your front or on your side. Might be worth checking out the shape of a pillow as well as the filling.
