Red dwarf

Zooropa, 12 April, 2009 at 21:15 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 17

I'm so very glad it's the last part tonight. It's been beyond awful. And it's made even worse by the poor take off of blade runner.

Anyone actually enjoying it?

I laughed in the rovers when the real craig said he was going back to the priory, but that was it.

I laughed at the priory quip and when Rimmer was banging his nuts on the table. It's been a massive disappointment.

I watched friday and last night but not bothered tonight, i thought it had been crap tbh. It's usually the case though when something is hyped up and has high expectations.

I loved it and shed a tear at the end. Last night's was the best I think. I don't watch films so don't get any of that sort of refs in anything!

I'm glad it wasn't just me! I thought going back to earth and the chance of staying there, it was all just lovely.

Absolute shite. I did have the chance of going out tonight but my friend let me down. Maybe I should have just gone out on my own anyway would have saved watching a load of rubbish. My hubby loves it. Must be a man thing. Think I'm going to go to bed or have another glass of wine. GET IT OFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

Well I enjoyed it, as did OH, who boycotted RD after series 2! I loved cat being back to his real cat-like self, I hated his post series 2 persona where he became more of a human with fangs. Me and my sister spent hours doing the 'OOOWWW how'm I lookin'?' Routine! Way better than series 7&8 tbh.

Er... no. Liking Dwarf is "a man thing?" Why? A lot of the posters on this thread (me included) are long time Red Dwarf fans who are disappointed by these particular set of episodes.

In lots of ways, it was a love of Red Dwarf that brought me and H together ? I think it was my saying I liked it that encouraged him to talk to me in the first place. I don't get this thing that somehow SF is "a man thing" but then I did my MA dissertation on a female writer and Science Fiction ?

    I don't think it's a man thing either! <checks genitals> Nope, definitely a female Dwarf fan here.

In short, a big disappointment. RD should be wittier & smarter than to have to rely on being a bladerunner pastiche. Boo. I also thought you would get a lot more out of it if you watched Corrie, which i don't - I didn't even know that Craig Charles was in it.

There were a few glimmers of the old form, but not nearly enough.
