Restraining orders

Hi guys, I'm not really a regular poster on here anymore although I lurk but I need some advice. We've got a looper in H's family who is keying our cars on a regular basis. We *know* it's this person but don't have any direct evidence and it needs to stop.

We can't speak to them directly as it won't do any good and I'm not really sure what to do next. I'm going to speak to the police tomorrow for general advice (I can't do it now as I'm too emotional) but I'm not sure what they can do without direct proof rather than heresay. Are restraining orders worth it / would we be able to acheive this? I'm not even convinced that it'd do any good but maybe a visit from the police to say 'we know it's you' would give them a shake.

We're looking into CCTV but I don't want to have to do this and we aren't sure that it'll even help if the police couldn't accept it as evidence anyway.

Gah, I'm all confused and angry and upset. What I really want to do is beat her with a baseball bat, but I *know* this won't help ?

Can anyone offer any advice at all before I go making a fool of myself with the police tomorrow? Thanks for any help given, I might not be around again for a few hours but I will come back to offer proper thanks.
