Rice butterflies -frans post.

cookiekat, 20 October, 2011 at 14:28 Posted on Planning 0 8

Just read Frans blog about the rice butterflies - they are very pretty!

Has anyone used them? I was at a wedding a few years ago and the confetti left little marks on the wedding dress (it was drizzling so water plus confetti = colour run) and now I am a bit paranoid about having confetti! At another wedding bubbles were used and they left oily stains on most people clothes!

Aww these sounded amazing, but have you been to their site?

I just went a look and nearly got tricked into getting them for 'free' - which I thought was a tester pack but no it meant 'fill out this form and ask your guests to buy you them'

Then when I went and looked at the colours there were nowhere near the colours I imagined might be available. They are all very bold and I was expecting pastels and hopefully a lavender , which there was not. There is a white though I'm not sure if I fancy it.

    I was quite disappointed.

They are lovely, I am going to see if our art teacher at work can help me make some, as they are quite expensive to buy

I think they look fab and even though quite expensive it doesnt look as though you need much to create a nice effect like in the pics above. ?

Is it possible to buy confetti like this in regular shapes but that don't run? I too am worried about staining after seeing my friend's dress get ruined, and heard a lot of people say about oil/bubble marks... I would like to provide some confetti but don't want butterfly shapes.

    Ok I stand corrected.

Buy rice paper, buy punch, buy Tesco value rice* = flying butterflies for much cheaper than £10.99 per box!!!

*other value rice products are available.
