Rightmove top trumps

*Mini*, 7 July, 2014 at 21:26 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 100

Inspired by the competitive cheapness if houses on the budget thread I wondered what the cheapest house in your area is.rules are thus:

must be on rightmove

must be within a mile of your home pistcode

Must not be commercial property, a garage or one of those shared owenership things.

points will be awarded for dodgy stains on carpets, boarded up windows and questionable choices in rooms.

Here is mine- surprisingly ok and only £72,995. Handy for maplins, seems stuck in 1998.

Here's mine, looking very clean and spruce although small!! However, the location is dreadful unfortunately so even at the bargain price of £50k, I advise steering clear lol

I'm not sure if mine counts because it's investors only (so it already has someone living there)

    £115K for a studio flat

Not surprising at all considering our 3 bed semi cost £280k but we are on the direct Victoria train line and it only takes 1.5 hours to get to London Victoria from our station.

Am wishing I'd pushed H a little harder to move further north!

Round my new flat, this is the cheapest, but it's a retirement property http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-24994242.html

Cheapest non-retirement flat is this one http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-45109948.html

I can't seem to link on my phone but I've got £129,995 for a 2 bed flat in a high rise on a very dodgy council estate. The inside actually seems quite nice though.

Because I live right in the city centre, almost all the properties that came up were actually in my building, so I don't wanna post those! But here's one that isn't. Just under 60k for a studio on the outskirts of the city.

There is only one house for sale within 1 mile of my home postcode and it's £920K (not convinced this is actually within the 1 mile limit as definitely further to drive!)

This is not because the area is enormously expensive so much as there is very little on the market as they get snapped up. If I include the sold subject to contract places there was a 2-bed cottage for £160K; stone built and gorgeous with roses round the door.

I think that the city dwellers have an advantage here: a whole mile can cover all sorts of properties in town!

Excluding commercial, retirement flats, garages and park homes - the cheapest is this 1 bed flat at £135k.

Although the interior doesn't look that bad, I wouldn't live on this estate tbh, it's pretty grotty.

    http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-44607787.html

Much prefer the nearest highest priced at £2,650,000...

Such a jump within a very small distance!!
