Risley hall, derbyshire

Titch83, 29 January, 2013 at 20:41 Posted on Planning 0 1

Hi everyone just wondering if anyone has had any experience with risley hall, derbyshire? Basically they have an affordable package that looks to suit the wedding we want but when speaking to the wedding coordinater on the phone (not met in person yet) I just don't get a good vibe. When I asked questions she answered with basic information and seemed like she was having a bad day and this call was too much trouble. I have been to see the hall but the wedding coordinater was busy as I didn't book an appointment but the staff member who showed me round was lovely and gave me as much information as she could. I just don't know how I feel about having to deal with someone who seems like they can't be bothered. I expected a wedding coordinater to be jolly and exciting and really trying to sell themselves and the venue but am I asking to much?!? Smiley smile x

Hi, I have friends who have married there. They xouldnt fault it. I'd say if you like the venue definitely go in person to meet them and then see what vibe you get, some people just are not good in the phone/bad day/personal problems. If you like it its worth a second chance

    Hi

It used to be good, but I believe the current owners have let it slip. My friend booked a girls spa with overnight stay. She said the spa/ pool / jacuzzi were scruffy, mouldy & dirty. The room they stayed in was OK, service was poor & none of the staff seemed to know who was in charge & probably didn't care. This was last November, so fairly recent.

There is a place just up the main road, the Risley Park which caters for weddings. I can vouch for the food, having met friends there for sunday lunch. I suggest you go & ask them about packages for weddings.

What sort of place are you after? Grand House more important over location?

    Best of luck
